Yesterday, Sheri Easter learned as a result of testing, that she has breast cancer. The report came after a recent biopsy as stated on Sheri's blog on http://www.gaither.com. She will be undergoing surgery with the possibility of a mastectomy.

Jeff and Sheri have been an unwavering influence in the Gospel Music industry for over twenty years. Their success is such, as legends are made of. Their life, music and testimony resonate in the hearts of their audiences everywhere because of the reality of which they sing! Sheri's testimony to her audiences could not be more profound than what came from her hand today, in her blog, when she wrote "I wonder how many times in my life I've used the word "planned"? My schedule doesn't have an opening for cancer. I'm a scheduler and a very good one at that, but even I can't schedule life onto a calender".

Jeff and Sheri Easter covet your prayers at this time, as Jeff reminds us, "Why should I dwell on the hardships and struggles when I look just beyond them I see....the way this will end is with great celebration and deep in my heart I believe. Over and over, again and again, God is faithful!"

Sheri I have been praying for you ever since I read your blog. Needless to say I was shcoked as I am sure that you were. Don't forget that the "God on the Mountain is also the God of Valley" that you are going through and God truly does see the rainbow when we see only clouds. God Bless. Jan

    Sheri,

I had the pleasure of hearing you and Jeff a few years ago in Dayton, OH. That pleasure continues through Gaither.net. From the conviction you and Jeff showed that night as you sang, I know God continues to have a purpose for you. I pray that God through His Son has already started the healing process, and He will see you through.

Myself, I am facing major surgery for which I am high risk, but that risk is not too high for God. As I believe with all my heart He will see me through, I believe that He will see you through, too.

God Bless you and God Speed.

    Julie

Sheri, my prayers are with you and God is always with you and yours in good times and bad times. Hold your head up and keep on with the ministry that our God has called you and your family to do. Blessing others with your testimonies and songs and I'm sure this will be a testimony for everyone to see. Our God is alive and well he is our healer.
The song that Dottie Rambo wrote "I Thank God For The Valley I Walk Through Today", I would sing that song a lot when we were going through the valley with my husband. Before, during, and after we found out about his illness and lung transplant, God lead the way through the whole ordeal. It was one miracle after another. Our FAITH has really grown without waivering.
God let him live almost eight years longer than what the doctors had given him. He went home to be with the Lord last year. He has a new set of lungs and breathing very well now.
Waiting to hear good results. God is good all the time. May God Bless and keep you safe in his arms.
    Sister in Christ
    Linda

    Jeff and Sheri
I am a sixteen year old who loves istening to you both sing your music. You are such an inspiration to me. Having had our house burn a week before thanksgiving this past year and losing everything I had,I know what its like to face a mountain in your life. But through prayer and faith and the determination to overcome the battle my family and I made it thorugh. several of your songs helped me and I Thank you for that. Just "speak to the mounntain" Sheri and it will have to move and "you shall claim victory." I know as you go through this time in your life you can over come anything especially with that faith you both have. Don't give up because there is a lot of us out there praying for you and a "quick" recovery. Keep singing as well because I don't believe God is finished with you yet.
I wrote a song and one of the verses say

"God is looking down on us
He says my children don't give up things will get better don't you see just as long as you keep your eyes on me."

Keep your eyes on Him and know that I am praying for both of you and Your familys.
    Good Luck
    and God Bless

Sherri our prayers and thoughts are with you and the family. I too am walking the journey of cancer and know that to God it is just another word - to us it is scary, to Him it is not. Trust in Him is all we have to do, and know that He is walking with us. We will be victorious through Him.
