Yesterday, Sheri Easter learned as a result of testing, that she has breast cancer. The report came after a recent biopsy as stated on Sheri's blog on http://www.gaither.com. She will be undergoing surgery with the possibility of a mastectomy.
Jeff and Sheri have been an unwavering influence in the Gospel Music industry for over twenty years. Their success is such, as legends are made of. Their life, music and testimony resonate in the hearts of their audiences everywhere because of the reality of which they sing! Sheri's testimony to her audiences could not be more profound than what came from her hand today, in her blog, when she wrote "I wonder how many times in my life I've used the word "planned"? My schedule doesn't have an opening for cancer. I'm a scheduler and a very good one at that, but even I can't schedule life onto a calender".
Jeff and Sheri Easter covet your prayers at this time, as Jeff reminds us, "Why should I dwell on the hardships and struggles when I look just beyond them I see....the way this will end is with great celebration and deep in my heart I believe. Over and over, again and again, God is faithful!"

Jeff & Sheri:
Hi. My name is Brenda Jones. My husband and I live in New Brunswick, Canada. I have personally been an admirer of your ministry and your music for years. You certainly have been a blessing to me and it is at this time I hope I am a source of strength for you.
In 2003 I found a lump on my breast. Fear immediately gripped me. There was no doubt in my mind the lump was cancerous. I’ll not forget the days that followed. I suffered, in silent terror wondering how I was going to tell this news to my husband Murray. It wasn’t long after that that I began experiencing a numbness from the neck down. My arms, my legs…EVERYTHING was numb I couldn’t feel anything other than a strange tingling. Kind of like when your leg goes to sleep…that’s what I was feeling all over. Then came the night when I couldn’t feel my husbands hugs anymore. I was scared. I had to tell him but just as I was about to open my mouth the “Holy Spirit within” immediately rose up and profoundly retaliated with the words… “Keep your mouth shut! Have I not taught you that I watch over My Word to Perform it! You know what to do…NOW DO IT!” I remember saying….”But Lord he’s my husband. He’s bound to find out.” Again, I heard His words…”Shut your mouth. You know what to do. Now do it!!” Just weeks prior to this happening we had heard a teaching from Jer. 1:12…”I will watch over My Word to perform it.”
Upon hearing the voice of the Holy Spirit I chose to do as instructed and I began to SPEAK OUT LOUD and agree with the Word and the Word only, confessing such things as… “By His stripes I am healed.” (Isaiah 53:5), This body will line up with healing…I will run the race, I will keep the faith, I will finish the course…I have been made in the image of God…All of my days are numbered and recorded in His Book…” These confessions I intermingled with prayers such as… “Father, You promised me that You watch over Your Word to perform it…I now ask You to perform. You also promised that I will be in health as my soul prospers. As I daily read Your Word my soul is prospering, so I expect the latter part of that promise to manifest.”
Jeff, Sheri, within 4 months no lump, no cancer, no surgery…just the mighty healing hand of God.
I remember the night the Lord released me to tell Murray. I remember it like yesterday. I went to him and said…”Mur, 4 months I found a lump on my breast.” That’s all I got out of my mouth when Murray interjected with… “Brenny, 4 months ago I felt that lump and 4 months ago when I went to discuss it with you the Holy Spirit within said…”Shut your mouth! You know what to do….NOW DO IT!”
ISN’T THAT AMAZING?
Little did I know but when I found that lump those 4 months earlier, Murray felt it too…and the very thing the Lord spoke to me, He also spoke to Murray…. “Keep your mouth shut! You know what to do…NOW DO IT!”
God seen what Murray and I were doing in "our prison" and He couldn't help Himself...HE JUST HAD TO SHOW UP.
Jeff, Sheri, God promises us He watches over His Word to perform it. No matter what you are going through. No matter what you are facing God has a way out BUT we have to be the ones whom will stand our ground and protect that which is ours by SPEAKING OUT LOUD the Word of God.
Stand upon the promises of God. Speak OUT LOUD the Word on God. Release it into the atmosphere. Sure you might feel uncomfortable at first BUT IT WORKS. Speak the Word and watch Him perform. Scripture says in Jer. 1:12..."I will WATCH over My Word to Perform it." When one of God’s kids speak the Word, faith believing all heaven is silent. Angels stand waiting to hear the voice of the Father, and at His bidding they quickly come to assist us in our time of need.
Jeff, Sheri, take hold of each others hands and come together in agreement for the things you need… Stand upon His promises and speak them out loud… “Father, You promised me that You would “meet” all my needs according to Your riches in Glory.” The word “meet” means He will personally introduce Himself to, become acquainted with that which touches our lives. Read the Word, confess the Word, stand upon the Word. He promises us that “It” will NEVER return to Him void but ALWAYS ACCOMPLISHES that which it was sent forth to do.” But we are the senders…SO SEND.
Remind yourselves of your calling. Talk future dreams and desires. Build yourselves up to a point that no matter what this world has to give us…we know, that we know, that we know….God is going to complete that which He started in our lives and nothing, absolutely nothing is going to make me believe any different. Remember, before you took your first breath, while you were being formed in the secret place of your mother’s womb, HE KNEW YOU and called you by name. Even before you seen the light of day He had each and every day of your life recorded in His book. Our days are ordered. Our days are numbered. He has a plan for us. It is for good, not for evil, giving us a hope and a future.
When God sees His kids speaking the Word, coming together in prayer, praising Him in advance of their deliverance He will do as He did with Paul and Silas…HE’S GONNA SHOW UP…and when He does…HE NEVER COMES EMPTY HANDED.
I sure hope this has been as encouraging for you to read as it has been for me to write…
You are in our prayers..We expect to see God intervene as He personally introduces Himself to your need.
