Cleveland, TN - Popular 2007 Male Vocalist of the Year, Ivan Parker was recently featured at Music Explosion 2008, held at the North Cleveland Church of God in Cleveland, TN. This three-day music conference featured exhibits, choral premiers and special concert events, introducing resources and new music to over 1000 worship leaders and ministers from across the country.
Parker joined noted evangelist and prolific songwriter Tim Hill on Wednesday, February 20, to kick off the event. Also featured on the premier night were the Voices of Lee from Lee University and soloist Kelly Bowling, as well as the North Cleveland Church of God Choir, who joined Parker on several musical selections. Music Explosion 2008, sponsored by SpiritSound Music, offered workshop forums, as well as artist and song search competition.
Following an exciting evening in Cleveland, Parker spent several days in the snow and ice that blanketed much of the Midwest last week. Parker was forced to postpone two concert events in Missouri and Kentucky over the weekend. The dates have been rescheduled and will take place in March. Parker will be featured at the Morgantown Community Church in Morgantown, KY, on March 20 and the Prairie Grove Baptist Church in Columbia, MO, on March 21. Ivan Parker, Congragulations on your success, Brother. I remember the day you and your wife strolled into the Disciples Book Store in Anniston, AL where I was the manager, from 1993-95. We had some of your cassette tapes on the shelf when you were with Gold City.
Remember, the Gaither videos were just getting started. I asked you when you were going to appear on a video. You said you were going to be on the next one. You were, and I think you have been on all the rest of them since. I knew you had the tallent and was looking forward to seeing how God would use you. Again, Congratulations again, Brother, and may God continue to bless you and your music ministry. Remain humble and dependent on Him and you will go very far, for Him.
