It is with great sadness that we announce that during a press conference today in Hendersonville, TN, the Crabb Family announced their plans to disband and go their seperate ways. The Family will make this year their final tour together before seperating August 1, 2007.
Below is the official press release as released by the family.
For over 10 years siblings, Jason, Terah, Adam, Kelly, and Aaron, known collectively as the Crabb Family have sang the gospel around the world. With 16 number 1 songs, three Grammy nominations, 10 GMA music awards, and a lot of prayer, the Crabb Family as we know it now has decided to call it quits. Each member will keep with tradition and continue to pursue their separate ministries once the tour has been completed. The siblings feel it is time to move to a new season and are anticipating what God has in store for all their ministries. The Crabb Family will set out on a farewell tour immediately. Their last date as a group will fall on August 1, 2007.
Everyone is being asked to respect the decision of the Crabb Family and keep each of them in your prayers. All interview requests should be directed to Big Ten Entertainment at 615-537-1295 or .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) . To schedule the Crabb Family fairwell dates or information on a farewell date, contact Becky Simmons Agency.

Did nobody see this coming? I have been looking for this to happen for some time now.

Selfishly I wanted them to stay on the road for a long, long time. But I do recognize that the sheer logistics of keeping that many families on the road for as many dates a year as they do has GOT to wear you down.
I think this will be a great year for them - they have a powerful annointing and with a clear cut plan can go full bore and reach even more people - kind of a "blaze of glory" thing.
I read a post from Aaron on another blog and was heartened by his attitude. The best thing we can do for the Crabb Family is to keep them in our prayers. -
The impact the Crabb Family had on the world was tremendous as a group. I can't imagine what they can do as their journey continues as individual ministries. I hope & pray that their message of hope, encouragement and Jesus saves will go far and wide.
I wish you all the best!

I am sad to hear the news about the crabb family disbanding. However i know that the are doing what they feel that God has told them to do. The all are full of God and i will truly miss seeing them in concert. May God blessing continue to fall on the Crabb family as they continue on their journey. We all love you and appreciate the many years and hours that you all have given up to minister to us.

I too am VERY sad and heart broken. We fell in love with this group back 10-11 years ago when my wife and I went to see Michael English in concert in Owensboro, but The Crabb Family opened for him, and we there that night TRUE Crabb Family fans and soon friends. I will say there is NO other group anywhere that does/will go as hard as these guys do.
And I do want to say WE LOVE YOU, and more importantly we will be PRAYING for ALL of you!!!!! God Bless You Guys! -
The Crabb Family came on the SG music scene like gangbusters and were no doubt a breath of freah air. Were they anointed, you better beleive it!
But something has happened, even the most die hard Crabb fan has to admit something is just not right.
Just what does "blurr the line imply?"
And my biggest question, why did they leave what got them to the top, southern gospel music?

Hey guys, Just to let you know everyone is really gonna miss yall. You have always had just the song I needed to hear. Last aug. after my dad pastored a church for over 5 yrs we were told that they wanted us to leave. Your song "Through the fire" was right there. Then june the 13th (the day before yall sang at our SC Church of God campmeeting) we found out that my mom has breast cancer, and your songs were there. But we will keep you all in your prayers and ask that you would pray for us. Luv yall.

The promotional material for the newest album states "Blur the Lines between Traditional & Contemporary, Young & Old, Black & White, Joy & Sorrow, Loud & Soft, North & South, Right & Left, Rich & Poor, Faith & Fear, First & Last and Pulpit & Pew" quite the noble endeavor if you ask me.
