BOONE, NC - It’s time to cool off in the high country of North Carolina. And nothing could be better than doing that while also enjoying the greatest music in the world - Gospel music.

Again this year, Southern Gospel fans have a prime opportunity to see and meet many of their favorite Southern Gospel groups and soloists - all at one location - at one of the nation’s largest outdoor Gospel music gatherings. It will all be happening at the 24th Annual Everette Greene Memorial Gospel Singing Jubilee, to be held August 8th - 13th, at the High Country Fairgrounds, at Boone, North Carolina.

Nationally known artists like the Hoppers, Jeff and Sheri Easter, Brian Free and Assurance, the Greenes, Ivan Parker, Michael Combs, Mark Bishop and many, many others are scheduled to perform live beneath the stars at this nationally recognized music event.

“With record summer temperatures all over the country, the cool Appalachian mountains will be the place to be,” said Tony Greene, coordinator of the event. “After 24 years, the Gospel Music Jubilee is more popular than ever and has turned into almost a big family reunion. Many visitors have attended this event every year since we started. They are like family to the Greenes, and we look forward to seeing everybody each year.”

Here is the artist lineup for this year’s Jubilee, with nightly concerts beginning at 7:00 p.m.:

On Tuesday, August 8th, Mark Bishop, Ricky Atkinson and Compassion, the Freemans, the Greenes and Heirline will appear in concert.

Wednesday, Aug.9th, is bluegrass night. The Primitives, the Chuck Wagon Gang, the Singing Cookes, and the Greenes will perform.

Thursday, Aug. 10th will feature Greater Vision, Michael Combs, the Greenes, Kevin Spencer and Friends and Big Mo.

Friday, Aug. 11th, the Hoppers, Brian Free & Assurance, Ivan Parker, the Greenes and the Down East Boys will be appearing.

Saturday, August 12th, will feature the Perrys, Jeff and Sheri Easter, the Greenes, Paid in Full, Tony Gore and Blue Ridge.

A special free Sunday morning service, Aug. 13th, at 10:30 a.m., the Greenes and the Lesters will sing.

Large tents are provided in case of rain, and RV and tent camping is encouraged on the grounds. Country cooking will also be available, and artists’ booths will be set up. You can count on great fellowship and even a few surprises throughout the week.

A national poll, conducted last year for The Singing News Magazine, found that the Everette Greene Memorial Gospel Singing Jubilee was voted the number one fan favorite of outdoor gospel music festivals.

“It’s one of the highlights of our year when our friends come together for a week of great music and fellowship,” Tony added, “I believe this year will be the best Jubilee yet!”

Concert - goers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and jackets, as well as blankets, too, perhaps.

Boone is a highly visited tourist area with many motels, great restaurants, quaint shops, and nearby outlet malls. While visiting Boone, you can enjoy Tweetsie Railroad, a Wild West theme park; Blowing Rock; Grandfather Mountain and the Old Mast General Store, in Valle Crusis.

Many fans make a full week of it at the High Country Fairgrounds, while visiting the many sites surrounding beautiful Boone, NC. Call 828-297-3030, visit: http://www.thegreenesgospel.com
