NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Allen Smith of SGN Scoops Magazine, home of the Diamond Awards, is proud to announce that Karen Peck & New River has been confirmed as a featured performer for the 2006 Diamond Awards.
Performing along with Karen Peck & New River during the awards program will be Brian Free & Assurance, the Hinsons, Ann Downing, the Browns, Big Mo, the Goldens, Lori (daughter of Anthony Burger), and the Wills. More performers will be announced at a later date.
“Karen Peck & New River has won Trio of the Year two years in a row in the Diamond Awards, so it is only fitting that they finally perform for the awards program,” mentioned Allen Smith of SGN Scoops Magazine. “They are so talented, and they are a perfect fit for the Diamond Awards show.”
The Diamond Awards are held every September during the week of the National Quartet Convention in Louisville, Kentucky. This year’s Diamond Awards will take place on Friday, September 15th, 2006 in the Scot Room of the Executive Inn West at the entrance of the Kentucky Fair and Expo Center in Louisville, KY.
The 2006 Diamond Awards will again be hosted by popular Southern Gospel soloist Mark Bishop and Kyla Rowland, one of the industry’s most sought-after songwriters.
Lamp Music Group is the major sponsor for this year’s Diamond Awards. Co-Sponsors for the event include 770 AM Southern Gospel, Southern Spin Entertainment, Coastal Media Group, and Southern Gospel soloist Quintin McGinnis.
The Top 10 ballot for the Diamond Awards was released not long ago and can be found at http://diamondawardsonline.com.
About the Diamond Awards
The Diamond Awards were transferred over to the SGN Scoops Magazine three years ago after the original home for the awards, the Gospel Voice Magazine, folded. The Diamond Awards are a fan based award that allows the fans to choose the nominees as well as the winners each year. The awards show is based during the National Quartet Convention every September.

Is the "Scoops" an active operation? I have been to that site and it looks like all the info is very old. I used to get tons of email from them asking me to advertise, but the only thing I hear about is the "diamond awards" at NQC. Why would there be two award shows at the convention? Can anyone enlighten me?
