SPRINGFIELD, Missouri – The Cerces, one of the Midwest’s most popular family groups, just recently received endorsement for the group’s ministry from Christian Music Presenters (CMP) of Nashville, TN. CMP evaluates and endorses Christian artists, as they link groups and artists with pastors and presenters throughout the United States.

CMP was founded last year by Dr. Randall Bayne and Rev. Roy Hayes – both ordained ministers – each with more than 20 years of professional music experience. The organization endorses groups and artists in over 20 recognized Christian musical styles.

Groups and artists begin the process by presenting CMP with churches, pastors and concert promoters they have recently performed for, so that extensive questionnaires can be filled out by them, serving as references for the artists. Information is supplied by the artists so they can be evaluated as to the denominations and church groups that the artists are equipped and prepared to effectively minister to, as well as involved information as to the artists' travel patterns, repertoire, financial requirements and other matters.

Based on the evaluation of this preliminary information, some of the artists are invited to a private meeting with CMP evaluators, who travel to major U.S. cities to get to know them, and to interview them in depth. Then, the groups and artists perform a private 30 minute concert for the evaluators as part of the evaluation process.

Performers are ultimately evaluated in regard to CMP's three ministry values and criteria - Musical Excellence, Ministry Readiness, and Spiritual Integrity. To date, about 160 Christian artists/groups have been endorsed by CMP, including Harlan Burton, The Pfeifers, and Young Harmony.

Cliff Cerce, group manager, said, "We are thrilled to be associated with this wonderful organization. We all connected with Dr. Bayne and Rev. Hayes immediately and were impressed with their desire to help artists and presenters alike through their organization. We look forward to a long and profitable association with CMP in the days ahead."

Information on The Cerces' ministry will be added to the CMP website in the coming days. CMP offers free access to pastors and presenters with information regarding their endorsed artists at http://www.christianmusicpresenters.com.

The Cerces just put the finishing touches on their new project, Treasures - Old and New, last month. The new recording contains 14 songs – seven classic Southern Gospel songs, as well as seven original songs.

The Cerces were recently the recipients of the 2005 Horizon Group of the Year award, presented by the Branson Gospel Singers Songwriters Association (BGSSA). The awards, which are determined by voting among Association members, were presented by the BGSSA at their annual awards ceremony on Sunday night, September 25, 2005 at the beautiful Chateau on the Lake resort in Branson, Missouri.

Be listening for the group’s current single, “O Happy Day,” on Southern Gospel radio across the country.
