About This Article

The GMA Foundation (GMAF) inducted Walter Hawkins, Mylon Le Fevre, Evie Tornquist Karlsson and The Lewis Family into the GMA Gospel Music Hall of Fame earlier this week. Ron Huff, Don Light and our dear friend, Lou Hildreth, were also inducted as non-performing members into the GMA Gospel Music Hall of Fame during the event on Tuesday, February 22, 2005. The GMA Gospel Music Hall of Fame ceremony was held at Trinity Music City in Hendersonville, Tennessee. The night was taped as a one-hour special for TBN.

What a tremendous honor for Three Bridges to have attended this special event. Group member Elliott McCoy states that Lou Hildreth, “Not only has been a dear friend, she has also been a tremendous supporter and encourager to our ministry.” Three Bridges also had the privilege to meet Doug and Melvin Williams of the Williams Brothers. Melvin Williams was the writer of Three Bridges hit song “Cooling Water.”

Three Bridges was host for GMA’s special guest Don and Ruth Storms. Don was the first producer of Evie Tornquist and produced her first three albums on Majestic Records. Don and Ruth produced Evie’s first album when she was only 14 years old. You might remember Don from the 1970’s, he had a national gospel group called The Envoys and recorded on the Impact label.
