John Crenshaw, noted gospel music historian, will be teaming with Charlie Waller of the Grand Ole Gospel Reunion to bring a monthly gospel music history lesson to the world wide web.

Mr. Waller and Mr. Crenshaw have enjoyed a long association with each other through the Grand Ole Gospel Reunion, so it was only natural that this monthly column be featured on the Grand Ole Gospel Reunion web site. Web master Alan Kendall has been working overtime to make this endeavor an initial success.

Crenshaw has been a frequent contributor to many gospel music publications including the Singing News. He most recently has been a staff writer for Southern Gospel News with his monthly SG History 101 articles. He has been a contributor to "The Gospel Greats" and "Heritage and Legacy of Gospel Music" radio programs and has also contributed to several books about the recorded history of gospel music.

Mr. Waller says, "John has been a help to me at the Grand Ole Gospel Reunion for many years, and I'm glad to have him join with me in the project to keep the history of gospel music alive."

The anticipated launch date for the new site is November 1. Be sure to follow the links at http://www.grandolegospelreunion.com for all the details.

John, you can't just leave me uninformed about Southern Gospel History. Where should I go, and who should I go to?

Thank you all for your kind words. I certainly have appreciated the opportunity that Southern Gospel News has afforded me to share about these pioneers of the past. It has become a monthly labor of love.

I am sure that the next writer will continue to deliver excellence to the web site. I know I'm looking forward to reading it.

    May God bless you all.

John's knowledge of gospel music is incredible. I have known him since he was a teenager, and I never cease to be amazed how much he knows about things that occurred before he was even born.

He will be missed, but I am sure you will continue the good tradition on your website.

John, I have been a fan of yours for a long time. Having been a "gospel singer and pianist for about 59 years, I know or have met most of the people you write about. I still enjoy reading about the "old-timers". Keep up the good work. Jimi
