The Dunaways’ latest single, “Beautiful Day,” from the album by the same name, was named Number 1 for the week in early October on WXRI, Joy-FM in Winston-Salem, N.C. Program director JJ Moore said, “Our listeners have found the song to be enjoyable, encouraging and uplifting. The beautiful harmonies of the Dunaways have made this song a hit at Joy-FM.” WXRI was the Southern Gospel Music Association’s “Station of the Year” for 1999 and 2000. It is one of the most listened-to Gospel station in America.
The Dunaways, consisting of Randall and Tammy Dunaway, their daughter Kanah, and Randall’s cousin LaWayne, is rapidly growing in popularity. The group appeared at the Crabb Family Homecoming event (CrabbFest) in July of this year and many from the huge crowd that heard them sing visited their product table following their appearance. They will make a return visit to the event next summer.
