Sally, I just remembered my wife and I renewed our vows at our home church this past july. Our pastor Danny McAdams and his wife Susan sang ” The Last Mile Together”.
For my wedding, I sang the same song that Rodney Griffin (of Greater Vision) sang to his wife when he got married. He sent me the words and an MP3 of it, and a local pianist figured out the chords and played background for me. The song is for the man to sing to the bride. It’s called “I Want To See Through Your Eyes.” I talks in the first birth about Jesus coming to earth so He could see through our eyes (His bride’s eyes). Second verse is the man telling his bride how much she means to him and how he will strive to be there for her. If intestested in the song, contact Greater Vision through their web site and your message will likely make it to Gerald or Rodney, and they might share it with you. It’s a beautiful song!!! It’s very difficult to not cry when it’s being sung…the message is so powerful, much like many of Rodney’s other songs.
Others that you might consider, “In This Very Room” and “the Wind Beneath My Wings.” I actually prefer the two above and some others more, but both of these are popular. Another popular one is “Whither Thou Goest”
