I was surfing on YouTube and came across this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XkflB9p3nE8&feature=related on the Reinhardts singing the song, “Raise Your Hand”.

Being in gospel radio with this being a single really before the digital age, I had forgotten how this song got you going and how it was a crowd mover.

Then I got to wondering what happened to the group.  This video is almost 20 years ago.  Is this the same John Reinhardt as in the links below?  If not, what happened to this group?

I have no idea if that’s the John Reinhardt from the group or not, but I definitely remember them.  I remember back when NQC was in Nashville with very little going on in the daytime and the Eddie Crook company having a free showcase open to the fans.  As with most showcases he had a couple big groups like the Bishops and Perrys, but most of the people I’d never heard of and onto the stage came the Reinhardts and blew my socks off!  They had the 2 big singles and then went away about as fast as they came in.  I always thought of the lady, Jeniece?, as being the real vocal talent, but this could be the same guy.

I am sure he is the same one.  I remember the trio very plainly, although all their names’ escape me.  The was John Reinhart, Jr., Jeneice, and their brother but I can’t think of his name.  For some time, their family had a music store around Gainesville, GA.

As already said, the group got connected with Eddie Crook and ran wide-open until Jeneice left around the early 1990s.  She was replaced briefly by another lady, but I don’t remember her name either.  I am not sure what year they started but it was in the 1980s.  John Jr was one of the first pianists the Gold City Qt had when they started in 1981.

They had several big songs…the two I remember are “What A Way To Go” and “Raise Your Hand”.  The latter was also recorded by the Kingsmen on a cd titled “Live In Dayton” or something like that back in 1990.  I think that the girl was taken off the road pretty much by her husband, but that is just heresay.

I have two cassettes that recorded to a cd years ago, but there again I can’t think of their names!  Will post again when I have names!

Ok, the brother I am missing is Jeff.  The music store closed after their father passed away some years ago.  I don’t know the present locations of either Jeff or Jenenice.
