Obama is already leaving the democrats in a far worse condition than Jimmy Carter ever imagined. Many of the “blue dog democrats” are getting cold feet because of the pressure from grass roots democrats who do not support socialized health care. Ben Stein wrote in an editorial that Obama is pushing so quickly because he is seeing his support fading quickly.
The blue dog democrats are in damage control mode. They know that those who are up for re-election in the next 2 years are in big trouble. The economy hasn’t recovered. To recoup the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act waste, taxes will have to be raised exponentially. Obama’s approval ratings continue to slip, and even the TV networks are having a tough time making him appear sensible.
It took 12 years after Carter before the democrats got another chance at the Whitehouse. How long will it take to recover this time? Does Obama have a chance at re-election?
