Renowned Japanese masticator Takeru Kobayashi polished off a record 337 chicken wings in 30 minutes Friday to be crowned champion of Wing Bowl 20.
Kobayashi swallowed the competition in Philadelphia’s annual wing-eating contest, beating out reigning three-time champion Jonathan “Super” Squibb by 66 wings.
“I could probably eat another 100 wings or so,” Kobayashi said afterward, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer. “Not really fast, I’d have to take my time. But if you brought me 100 more, I could eat them.”

Saw a mention of where an eight-year-old boy was removed from his mother because he is overweight…weighing in at something like 200lbs! Apparently, now your children can be removed if they are deemed obese.

Does this not seem like a little crazy? I mean, we are living in a child-abuse paranoid country…abuse, it seems, must exist in every home. How did DFCS get this power? During the story, an interview with a bioethics teacher was shown. Like me, he thought it was very bad…one thing he said was:

“I don’t see how removing a child fom his home is supposed to be helpful to the child…”

I’ll have to admit that I have wondered that myself. I realize that in some cases where a child is being beat something similar the he may have to removed, but I fail to see that in this case. How did his happen? I have had my own runins with these bunch myself…one thing mentioned in their office’s bulletin board is:

“We care only for the children.”

Do they really?

NEW CASTLE, Pa.—A 50-foot-long bridge in western Pennsylvania has been stolen, and its owners say they’re baffled by the crime and have no idea who took it.

New Castle Development spokesman Gary Bruce said Friday that he “couldn’t believe it when they told me it was gone.”

A state police report says the 20-foot-wide span in North Beaver Township went missing between Sept. 27 and Wednesday.

The bridge was made out of corrugated steel and valued at about $100,000. Thieves used a blowtorch to cut it apart, presumably to sell it for scrap metal.

The bridge was used occasionally as a back entrance to the company property. It’s in the woods along a railroad line about 60 miles north of Pittsburgh.

Bruce says he doubts the company can replace the bridge.
