Was Jesus Republican or Democrat?
![]() As a very important election year comes upon us, I have been traveling all over the country listening to discussions in airports, boardrooms, studios, shopping malls and everywhere in between. No one seems to know what they want to do this election year. No one seems to understand the real crisis facing our Nation and world. Reader Comments
Jesus wasn't either .. His "party" was the only one that counted .. the Kingdom of God. The Gospel was not put into the hands of the political .. it was given to those who believe. Jesus never forced His teachings on the unbelieving .. He only presented the only Solution that God agrees with .. God's will, aka His Kingdom. If we stopped wasting our time looking for political solutions and did the work of the Gospel, the world WOULD change! Halleluia anyhow!

Rick, I agree that we should be God's men and God's women and should hunger & thirst after Him and His ways. Our allegiance should be to Him no matter what labels people are using all around us. However, in the arena of political affiliation and denominational membership, one's associations often have broader brushstrokes than just what it does or doesn't do for oneself. If you are voting for Hillary, you aren't just voting for her. You are voting to swing sovereign power in this country to the left. Likewise, if you vote for McCain, you are voting to swing the pendulum to the right. This is not a political discussion, but only an objective comment. Regarding denominationalism, I think most people would agree that belonging to a New Testament church will, by default, cause you to be a member of it. So, the idea of a free-thinking, free-wheeling lifestyle without certain alliances sounds liberating, but in fact most elements of our life here in the U.S. require us to be a member of something or to cast our lot with a certain group.
