I’ve always thought Charlotte Ritchie has a voice like an angel. I’ve had the honor and pleasure of working with her over the past few years and now that I know her, not only do I think she has the voice of an angel she has the heart of an angel.

Charlotte her husband Greg and their children Landon and Jayna have had an interesting, exciting and busy year and a half. In March of 2008 Charlotte Ritchie embarked on a new path that only God could have laid out for her. After 12 years of singing and traveling with Jeff and Sheri Easter, Charlotte began a full time solo career with Greg by her side encouraging her all the way. She remembers well the first solo concert that month. “We were in Mississippi on a Sunday morning and I was scared out of my mind. I was extremely pregnant, terrified and it was wonderful. We felt we were with our family. This was the church Greg grew up in. Everyone was loving and encouraging. It was a fantastic day!”

Charlotte’s current project, Bridges Over Blue is full of songs to bless everyone’s heart including her newest single “In Everything Give Thanks.” Written by Sheri Easter and Aaron Wilburn, Charlotte says this is one of the very special moments for her on this project. “In Everything Give Thanks” looks at how we should remember to be thankful no matter what the circumstances are in our lives. According to Charlotte, Sheri began working on the words to this song after hearing a sermon on this topic. Sheri wondered how to be thankful and grateful about her father passing away when she was only 20 years old. She felt God speak to her strongly saying “You had a great daddy. Not everyone has a great daddy.” She knew then what to be thankful for. Knowing how this song was written and being able to have Jeff and Sheri sing on it with her made this a special moment for Charlotte to be thankful for. “I traveled with Jeff and Sheri for 12 years. They became great friends, part of my family. Having them be part of this project meant so much to me.”

You can see Charlotte out on the road as a soloist but also on numerous Gaither dates. Her husband Greg is the full time drummer for the Gaither Homecoming dates. “I am tickled to be with Greg on these dates again this fall. With us many times going 2 different directions this gives us even more time as a family.

Charlotte is also nominated for the first time ever as a soloist on the Singing News Fan awards. “This is a huge honor and I feel blessed to be doing what I love.”

I'm not gloating in "I told you so", but I said several years ago on these SG sites that "Charlotte needs to come out of the shadows of other people". A very talnted atist in her own right, she has a bright future with her talented musician husband and family. Glad to learn Greg is a fellow Mississippian! Keep up the good work.
