Zane King - Finally Home

Produced by Zane King
Recorded at kilowatt Studios, Murfreesboro, TN – StudioZ, Smyrna, TN – UpFront Studios – Nashville, TN – Dark Horse Studios – Nashville, TN
Label – Journey Records

Zane King is a name well known in Southern Gospel Music for his producing abilities. This time Zane took on the incredible task of producing himself and did a remarkable job doing so.

Most of the songs were co-written by Zane, which is another talent that he is little known for, but great at.  Though songs like "Keep Me In Your Will" and "Help Me Get Down On My Knees" were released to radio and made hits by other singers Zane recoded them on this CD. There is something special when a songwriter performs their own songs and Zane does an extraordinary job on these two songs.

I have heard projects produced by Zane that ranged form Country to Progressive to Inspirational, but when it comes to his own singing you’re going to hear some excellent traditional country flavored music.

The opening song, "He Still Parts The Red Sea" is an upbeat number that gets the adrenaline running and you’ll be clapping your hands along with this song. The song talks about how God still does great miracles for us today. "Rock ‘N’ Rollers" has a novel message of how God still loves us all, beggars and preachers and old rock and rollers. You’ve got to hear the wild guitars on this cut. Nothing hits home like a strong ballad and "His Precious Pieces" hits the mark. This song speaks of the pieces that the potter uses to make beautiful vessels.

Though my Dad was never a fisherman and never took me fishing, with "Please Hold The Line" I can get a real sense of what it would have been like. I can see the lesson of needing help to hold the line as the fish was fighting and how we need God’s help to hold the line when the storms of life rage about us. This is one of my favorites on the CD. I can see this song doing well on radio.

Zane is not only an ultimate producer, fantastic songwriter, and great singer, now on the CD we find that he is a consummate musician, playing several instruments on "Wayfaring Stranger". This is a well performed instrumental.

"I Can Feel My Mountains Move" is an upbeat number that has a positive message to uplift you in discouraging times. As with many country feeling songs "Sometimes It Takes A Storm" meets us at our everyday level.

"There’s No Other Way" tells the beautiful story of how God would have found another way to save us if He could have, but giving His only Son’s life was the only way. Zane puts a lot of feeling into his rendition of this song.  You will be blessed by this song.

Other great songs include "He Knows, He Cares, He Does" and "That’s How He Forgives".

All in all this is a fantasic CD.  Well produced, well performed and great tracks.

I would like to agree with the comments made on this CD. Not often is someone so talented able to convey their true soul so clearly as Zane does on this project. This recording carries a message that "gets through". I know it will be a blessing to many people.

Thank you Zane for giving this to all of us!

I've known him for several years and I can tesitfy to the fact that these tunes and this project was born from "real life". A perfect addition to any gopsel music lover's collection. Well done Zeek!
