You’ve no doubt heard the old song “I’ve Been Everywhere.” After this tour, we began debating whether we should adopt it as our new theme song! After several weeks (seven to be exact), we have concluded our West Coast tour and are happy to report we are heading home. We had a wonderful time with the folks in Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada, California, Oregon, Washington and Idaho, but to be honest we are glad to be headed east. It will be great to get home, reintroduce ourselves to our families, and get some R&R for a few days.
We had a wonderful time with our friends The Knox Brothers out in Tangent, Oregon. For those of you who may not be familiar with these guys they are six brothers who play and sing southern/ country gospel. They all play and sing. It’s not very often that you see a gospel group with a live band anymore but that’s exactly what you get with The Knox Brothers. They have been promoting gospel music for years out in the great state of Oregon and they do a terrific job..Thanks guys!!
Next it was on up to Seattle, Washington where we sang with our good friend Jim Arneson. Jim has been promoting gospel music in Washington State for many years. He has a wonderful ministry up there and it is always a pleasure to sing for him and get to see our many friends in the Pacific Northwest.
While in California it was good to see our dear friends Max and Lucy Mace, along with their daughter Val and son in law Art. We were invited to stay at their beautiful home while we were in Placerville. For those of you who follow gospel music, their name may sound familiar. Max and Lucy founded the wonderful gospel singing group The Heritage Singers. They have been singing for The Lord for 38 years all over the world. If you’re not familiar with their ministry do yourself a favor and get on the web and check them out. Thanks Max and Lucy for your hospitality!
Another highlight was singing for the God and Country Festival in Reno, Nevada. We shared the stage with the state champion barbershop chorus as well as the state champion barbershop quartet Stardust. They are from Las Vegas and did they ever put on a show! They sang great and were hilarious. For those of you who know anything about the King’s Heralds, you know we love accappella singing. Needless to say we felt right at home.
The audiences in Colorado, New Mexico and Idaho were absolutely fantastic! They all treated us like family and it was truly a pleasure singing for each and everyone. Many thanks to the pastors, promoters Dj’s and all the folks who made this west coast tour the best one yet. Be sure to check our schedule on our website at http://www.theheralds.org to find out when we will be your area.
