Time to Stop and Smell the Flowers!
Stopping and smelling the freshly bloomed flowers of spring...hmmmm...Well, if it were not for allergies and if I did not have to schedule an appointment even to do that...I surely would!
I really got to thinking about that yesterday! We had Memorial Day at home. It was a rarity, but a GOOD rarity! But it really made me think! As we gathered with friends for a barbecue, I thought...Do I even know how to sit and visit...and my GRACIOUS, can I stop long enough to play some fun group games? I have to confess, it was a challenge for me! No one in my family would tell you I am a bit of a perfectionist workaholic....Right family? LOL...Wrong!
Here are a few things I learned during my day of relaxation and I hope they may encourage some of you fellow manic workaholics!
a. I am so under-entertained that I got blown away during a match of "Scene It" cause I almost never ever watch movies...not even oldies but goodies...LOL! I need to watch more movies with Bob Hope and Doris Day in them!
b. I can actually carry on a conversation with people that involves small talk.
c. A good game of mafia sharpens my negotiating skills...Tee hee!
d. I have a couch and a family room!
Most of all, yesterday I was reminded of the value of family and friendship! Yesterday was Memorial Day! While I have not taken time to stop and smell the flowers along the way, many people have been surrounded by flowers and family and friends in memory of loved ones who fought for the freedom for me to live in a society where I could work and PLAY...not just work....where I could worship and share the goodness of God in a FREE country...where I can travel across the land and share the HOPE of Jesus Christ! I am so thankful!
I am glad yesterday was a day to remember...a day to remember to take time to stop and smell the flowers (even if I did sneeze...lol)...a day to celebrate LIFE...and I am glad that through it I am reminded that today is one of those days too and tomorrow and the next day and the next day and so on. I want to remember not to forget what is really important...and what a gift from GOD each day is. There isn't alot of time to treasure so I want to learn to treasure time and treasure special times! James 4:14 says....For what is your life? It is even a vapor, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
Life on earth is too short...and eternity is too long to miss what really matters..Let's all think about that!

P.S. We are SOOOO Excited about how God is using our new single "You Are Loved!" People email us often about how it is ministering to them! We are so thankful! We recently learned it will be number #22 on the Singing News Top 80 Chart for July! And it is currently at #5 on the SoGospelNews weekly chart! To God be the glory! He is using the message of this song. Please take a moment and let us and radio know how it is touching your heart too! Thanks so much for your support!

Donna, OK- from a fellow Italian to the wife of another. I totally agree in a game of "Mafia"- I find it really inspiring LOL- My employees and clients enjoy the yelling and throwing of CDs around here. I have learned a little patience. I shared with Deon one day a conversation I held with an old boss of mine at a slimy New York label. He said, "Ya know you haven't done that bad for a kid, I am proud of you's growth-I am gonna split the profits, straight down the middle, 70-30." I laughed, only in New York. I also knew from the same man that told me"Never hurt anyone in the winter the grounds to hard to dig a hole" I was LUCKY. Take 30% and run.Ah....... the music business.
Awesome article Donna! We love you and Hope's Call!
