Energetic, exciting, charismatic and electrifying are four words that just barely scratch the surface when describing the music of Three Bridges. They're taken over this industry by storm, and I'm glad for it, for they truly are a breath of fresh air. Three Bridges is one of the few groups I just about sit on the edge of my chair waiting in anticipation for a new recording. They have a unique, infectious and identifiable sound that few groups can boast of. They're true artists by every sense of the word.
The energetic feel of the Ronnie Hinson penned, "IT TOOK" gets this recording started on the right foot (they seem to have really found a niche with Ronnie Hinson tunes) and the song leads quite well into the smooth sounds of the Daryl Williams penned, "IT STARTS ALL OVER AGAIN", which is a wonderful song vividly painting the picture of how God's mercies are fresh and new each and every morning.
The highlight of the recording for me is the Inspirational power ballad, "DON'T LET GO". Mitch Kenitzer sings the lyric to this tune with such conviction."Hold on to Jesus with all of your might, He's more than able to conquer the night, He'll give you strength like you've never known.no don't you ever let go.". I think this song could rank among their finest radio tunes and do just as well as "In the Sky" did last year.
The driving beat of the title song, "BREAKIN' CHAINS" features Elliott McCoy, while Dave McVay masterfully sings the powerful ballad, "HE TOOK THE CROSS", which leads very well into the easy feel of, "ARMS OF LOVE", penned by up and coming songwriter, Jimmy Dooley along with veteran writer, Steve Cheney.
"I CAN'T BELIEVE MY EYES" is a driving song about faith (which could arguably be one of the strongest songs on this recording) and it is one of the major highlights of the recording for me. Even though it's a bit different than the average song, I'd take the risk of releasing this song to radio; it's that good!
The recording closes out on a soulful note with the Andrae Crouch penned tune, "I DIDN'T THINK IT COULD BE", which, of course, fits these guys like a glove.
Three Bridges has definitely set a very high standard for themselves, and with that comes huge expectations from their fans (like myself). As great as this recording truly is, I keep thinking that it is lacking something. I don't know if it's the songs, arrangements, or where exactly I should point my finger. I kept waiting for another "Not the Great I Was" or "A Little Song Coming On" or "Yesterday" (a great, great song from their last recording).something to just really blow me away. But this is still one of the best releases for 2007, and there are some really great moments throughout this recording. It will be well worth your time and effort to get your hands on this recording, as it is truly an exceptional piece of work by an exceptional group of guys.

This is a wonderful album. James is right on with the review. Three Bridges are rapidly becoming one of the top groups in SGM.
Bravo to the guys in Three Bridges!!!
Too bad everyone has left the group....what now? the sound is gone...mitch was the sound....
Wow!!!What can i say?
I went to Family Bookstore looking for new material and saw this album. It only took sampling the first three songs and I was moved. What a wonderfully tight harmony these guys lay down with messages that hit right at home! Bless Your Holy Name Again just about put me in tears. Sad to hear they are no longer. Glad I got this cd.
Mike,
Just for clarification, Three Bridges is still going strong with a new lineup and they sound just as great as ever. Their new lead singer is exceptional.
I guess I will find out. Thanks. The first 5 songs are so catchy on that album I find myself humming them at work.
After just buying their album from 2005, I must say this album sounds much more like a trio effort. I found that album to be more like a lead singer with back ups.
