The Worley Quartet was started by Brian Worley. Brian made a name for himself as tenor for the popular traditional Southern Gospel Forgiven Trio. After some time on the road with Forgiven Trio, Worley decided to start his own group with his family. That's All I Need is the group's first release.
Upon first listen, The Worley Quartet recalls groups like The Diplomats, The Perrys, and even Forgiven Trio. However, Brian's strong tenor vocals help give the Worley Quartet its own sound - no better is this seen than on the traditional but fun "He's Not Disappointed In My Anymore."
"Ready To Leave" picks things up in that traditional quartet sound, while "Look Down (That Lonesome Road)" features a nice bass lead - even if reaching the bottom of his range on a couple scooped up notes. "That's All I Need" features nice family harmony in a middle-of-the-road sound - and once again feature Brian's stellar vocals. The group also covers other classics like "Hide Out Me," "Gentle Shepherd." The group's odd interpretation of "That's Enough" feels a little left-footed - but it's not enough to keep listeners from not coming back to the song.
Overall, That's All I Need is a fantastic introduction to this promising family group. The canned horns can be a bit distracting at times, but not enough to not recommend this album to fans of traditional family groups.
