The Talleys - Nov 04

Hi everyone!

Hope this finds everyone well. The Talley Trio is as busy as ever, but we’re counting the days until we get to enjoy our turkey and football in peace on Thanksgiving.

Our newest project is titled Praise For the Ages, and is a little different from our previous projects in that it features some old songs paired with new songs, such as the medley of “Shout to the Lord/How Great Thou Art.” Also on this recording are several acappella tunes, for which we’ve had a lot of requests. This project has received incredible responses so far, and we have witnessed audiences worshipping across the country unlike anything we’ve ever seen. You can order your copy of Praise For the Ages at http://www.talleytrio.com.

We filmed a live video shoot recently in Lancaster, Ohio, featuring songs from Praise For The Ages, to a most enthusiastic audience. We shared the stage with Ivan Parker, who also filmed a video, the Anchormen, the Kingsmen, and the Old Time Gospel Hour Quartet. Ivan also joined us on a song as a special bonus cut for our video. No details are in yet, but of course I'll let you know when it will be released. We're also releasing a "Live Across America" video with songs from our previous projects, including The Message. These two videos will most likely be ready for release in early 2005.

The Talley Trio would like to invite everyone to our third annual Smoky Mountain Homecoming! Held July 22-23, 2005, in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, this event has quickly become one of the fastest growing gospel music events in the country. This year we’ll be hosting the Booth Brothers, Mercy’s Mark Quartet, and piano extraordinaire Anthony Burger. Tickets are now on sale, with hotel/ticket packages available. If you’d like a mountain vacation next summer, we’d love to have you. You can order tickets online at http://www.talleytrio.com or call 423-235-2916.

My high notes were called into action recently, when I was asked to fill in with the Hoppers for the Virginia Baptist Convention. Kim was absent due to the death of her father, and although the extenuating circumstances weren't pleasant, I enjoyed spending the day with them, and I think we made it through the program just fine. (Although, in case y'all didn't know, that girl sings some really high stuff!) Please remember the Greenes and their family in your prayers.

My final exams are fast approaching, (thank God!) and I am up to my eyebrows in song demos, preparing for my new solo project. Mom recently spoke and sang at a women's conference especially for pastors' wives, and I understand she did great (although she never thinks so). Dad is busy in the studio, as always. By the time you read this, I will have just finished two days of backup vocal sessions for fellow Crossroads artist Mark Bishop, who can churn out a good song like a fresh cup of coffee. Is it any wonder we're looking forward to a break?!

On Thanksgiving afternoon, we'll gather around the table with the family and give thanks for all the many blessing God has bestowed upon us. I'm sure you and your family will feel the same way. Happy Holidays!

Until next time,

Lauren Talley

I wonder, do you still do "No Other Word For Grace"?
I think that was one of the most beautiful songs I'd ever heard, bar none!.. I heard it one night over the radio while coming back from a party (yeah, THAT kind of party). I pulled the car over and I cried like a baby.
My best wishes to you, Talleys. God bless you in all you seek to achieve.
AND my best to Kirk. I still say he's one of the finest tenors in Gospel music history. Regardless of what may have happened in the past, I feel he should always have our support, and an opportunity to sing. And guess what: if I had a group and the money to back it, guess who get's the first shot at being my tenor man?
Isn't that what Gospel music is about? Grace? Forgiveness? Redemption?
    We love you.
    Peace
