"One More Miracle," in my opinion, is a prime example of a standard southern gospel release - while nice to listen to, I don't see the Shannons winning any awards for it anytime soon.
The first thing I noticed about "One More Miracle" upon my initial listen is the over-dependance on an auto-tuner. Songs like "I'll Never Think Of Leaving and a cover of the Gaither Vocal Band's hit "Knowing You'll Be There" are so oversaturated that the vocals sound almost like a digital creation rather than a live vocal. Part of this is probably due to a short production time, but on "Knowing You'll Be There" in particular, the vocals sound so wobbly that the tuning actually jumps around, unable to properly tune the notes. The entire project isn't as bad, but it's very difficult to get past this issue while listening.
That gleaming technical problem aside, there seems to be a decent playlist of songs. "Jesus Is The Rock" is an original composition by James and Shawn Shannon and a decent album opener. The title track is a fun country-flavored tune. "The Seeker," an old Dolly Parton composition is given a mellow, laid-back arrangement that plays well to the Shannons' vocals.
The music arrangements are typical Eddie Crook fare - straight-forward southern gospel with a basic rhythm section and a few flavorings added for good measure. Again, nothing outstanding, but definitely not bad.
Overall, "One More Miracle" is an okay project. I wouldn't say it's a masterpiece by any means, but it does an adequate job.
