The Old Paths of today are an outstanding quartet; consisting of tenor, Jeff Schreiber, Tim Rackley singing lead (one of the best vocalists in the industry today), Douglas Roark on baritone and one of the best young bass singers in the industry today, Brandon Barry. If I may coin a Randy Jackson (American Idol) phrase, these guys "have got it going on!" They have gelled and molded themselves into a first class male quartet and there is nowhere to go but up. They have a fresh, clean sound and that sound exudes class, dignity and grace, but also displays plenty of energy and excitement. The time for the Old Paths has come, and this is the recording that will make people sit up and take notice.
The medium tempo, "IS THIS WHAT YOU HAD IN MIND?" penned by songwriting veterans Joel Lindsey and Sue Smith starts the recording off right before the pace picks up for the well executed quartet sounding number, "WE'LL SING A SONG", featuring a nice bass feature by Brandon Barry.
Douglas Roark sings the power ballad, "FROM THE CROSS TO THE LOST" before Tim Rackley sings the highly energetic campmeeting flavored, "OH BLESS HIS NAME", penned by Chris Binion. This exciting tune has "radio" written all over it and you'll definitely find yourself hitting the repeat button quite often with this song as well.
Penned by Douglas and Brandon, the lyrics of "HE'LL SEE YOU THROUGH" very calmly reminds us that "God will not guide where He will not provide, He'll never lead you through the valley without walking by your side. He's already walked ahead of you, and I know He'll see you through."
The pace picks back up for the song, "EMPTY BUCKET" before slowing back down for the Rodney Griffin penned tune, "PORTRAIT OF GRACE", which includes part of the chorus of the oft used hymn, "Grace Greater Than All My Sins" as a bridge. Keeping things in slow mode, tenor, Jeff Schreiber is featured on the Inspirational sounding, "HE CHOSE THE TREE" before Tim kicks things back up into high gear with "THE ROCK THAT WILL NEVER ROLL AWAY". (I also really like the little vocal effects on the song as well).
The anthem, "WE WILL GO ON" is a great song of perseverance proclaiming that "we will go on.by the Grace of God we will go on", while the uptempo, "YOU'VE GOTTA LOVE THE LOVE" offers up another great bass feature before the recording concludes with a challenge to everyone, "WHAT WILL YOU CHOOSE TODAY".
I am truly impressed with these guys. This is the best recording they have done since the group's inception. With a conservative look that reminds me of a "today's" version of the Inspirations, and a sound that I would consider a blend of Gold City and the Down East Boys, The Old Paths is a group I highly recommend everyone to check out. Their sound it tops, the tracks are great, and song selection is excellent.this is truly an exceptional piece of work.
Personal Favs: IS THIS WHAT YOU HAD IN MIND?; WE'LL SING A SONG; OH BLESS HIS NAME; HE'LL SEE YOU THROUGH; THE ROCK THAT WILL NEVER ROLL AWAY; YOU'VE GOTTA LOVE THE LOVE

This is truly a GREAT recording! There is not a better group out there today than The Old Paths. They have sung for me several times and I highly recommend them to any church or promoter. These guys are "class" personified.
The Today project for the Old Paths is a C.D. that stays in my car most of the time! All the songs have amazing truths about who God is and how much He loves us! I often catch myself singing one of these songs throughout my day! These guys love Jesus and it is evident when you hear them live or on a recording! Can't wait for the new projects!!
TODAY is so wonderful. Every song on the cd is a good song.I never hit the skip button when listening to this cd.I do have some favs on it though. "We'll sing a song" features Brandon singing some lowwwww notes, amazing. "He will see you through" and "We will go on" are some good slower ones. "Oh bless his name" and "The rock that will never roll away" are some great toe tappers. I love anything these guys sing. Each one of them put their heart and soul in every note. You gotta see'em in person to get the full effect of their sincere love for the LORD.
I've enjoyed everything I've ever heard from this group. I hope I get a chance to hear this record as well.
this is one of two of my children's favorite cd's.The other cd is a compilation of children's church songs!!! (THEY ARE 6,4,3);-) But why can't we rate this like all the other cd's???
This cd is amazing! There best one so far!!! This group has really touched my heart, and I love them all!! Thank you for serving God and blessing my heart!
OMG! I love these guys! I was at their live dvd last week and..let me just say...they totally rocked the house! You have got to hear this cd...it is really very awesome! They have a great sound and they are really annointed! seeing 250+ souls saved in a year?! God is using them!
These are a great group of guys who truly love the Lord. This project is an excellant example of that. If you can go and see these guys I would encourage you to do so. You will definitely receive a blessing.
DITTO TO ALL THESE COMMENTS AS MUST TO LISTEN TO
These guys are amazing. I want to tell you that my 15 year old on the day he turned 15 got saved in one of their concerts. The Today project rocks. They just keep getting better and better. He'll See you through is my fav, but they are all great. They really sing for God and when you hear them live there is no mistaking it.
The Fan Rating IS working on this CD Review. If you aren't seeing it then you have already voted.
I really love these guys. I've been with them on several occasions and they always seem to impress me. I agree...that bass singer has got what it takes and the project is a must have
These guys are awesome singers who walk the walk and talk the talk. They are devoted to the Lord and are not afraid to say so! This CD has rich vocals and every song is great. Their concerts are great, but their main goal is to have souls saved.
If you haven't had the pleasure and spiritual blessing of hearing these guys than you are truly missing out! I've heard alot of groups but none like this! For you artist...this is the group you need to fashion yourselves around...they are true blue! Great Project guys!
Let me say this, I have never seen these guys in person but I will next time they are up my way. I heard "He didn't have the heart" on xm one night while contimplating the idea of suicide. I realized that God really did love me! The next day I ordered all there cds and this cd is my favorite! They dont know it but their ministry saved my life and for that I am grateful! Thank you for your ministry guys! Total wishes and best reagards!
I absolutely love these guys! They are a blessing to me. What you see on stage is what you see off stage. These guys live what they sing. This is their best album so far. I really love "We'll Sing a Song", "He'll See You Through"(this song has helped me through some trials lately) & "He Chose The Tree". I believe that Brandon is the best bass in the business, Tim is the best lead in the business & Jeff is the best tenor in the business. If you haven't seen them in person you need to. They will truly bless you!!!
Not only are these guys our personal friends, but they serve a Personal God. They live what they sing and God is blessing them for that. We are so excited to see God work in this ministry and are proud of them. Mountain Creek Harmony
God has His Hand on The Old Paths. If you're part of the crowd that likes to see God show up at a meeting, go see The Old Paths the next time they're around. The Today project is comparable to anything out there today.
Everytime I turn around I hear something about this wonderful group! The souls being saved as a result of their ministry is really astounding! I can't wait to see what's gonna happen next...there hasn't been a group like this since the Cathedrals! They ARE todays Cathedral Quartet!
These guys are the real deal! I love the spirit and willingness to do what it takes for the cause of Christ that these men have. I recently asked them to be a part of the "Tornado Relief Benefit Concert" that I organized in Enterprise AL on the March 26, and without delay they agreed to do it ( No questions asked). They drove all night long from Close to Charlotte NC just to help some people out. That is what I am talking about. Thank you fellas for being a blessing.
It is obvious by all the previous comments posted that these guys are not only some of the most talented in the business, but their heart for ministry exceeds anything I have ever seen in any group. They live what they sing and they truly have a heart for people - all people. God has annointed this group of young men and He is using them to bring the message of Salvation and God's love everywhere they go. Make the effort to see this group in person. You will be truly blessed.

These guys are great! They don't just get up there and sing to bring glory to themselves. From the moment they step up on stage, you know they are there to minister. I have been to several concerts, and everytime I come out blessed. They are a great group of guys and Old Paths, if you are reading this, I love you guys and I am praying for you. I love your new project along with all of your projects. Keep on keeping on guys. You are touching many souls and your reward is great! Can't wait to see you again!
Well I guess i will give my opinion on these guys...they are awesome. We have been friends since our booths were beside each other at NQC. Since that time, i have had the honor of singing with the boys and genuinely falling in love with their hearts. They are goooood singers, but what is even more evident is that they are great Christians!! I love you boys.
TODAY is my favorite cd!I am impressed by the testimony of The Old Paths. They really love the Lord and have a love for others. I was totally blown away the first time I heard them sing. If you haven't heard the group, you are truly missing a blessing. It has been a blessing to hear them sing and to become friends with each of them. Guess what cd Melissa is playing? TODAY! Not only have you been a blessing to me, but also to Wayne, Jason & Melissa. We love you guys! Looking forward to seeing you again!
The Lord truly has his hand on this ministry!
God has made a special spot in our hearts for The Old Paths and their ministry. These men truly have a calling on their lives to see the lost brought to our savior, Jesus Christ. I cannot say enough about their new cd, "Today". Everytime I think I have a favorite song the next song speaks to my heart a message and it becomes my new favorite. It really is a cd that you will not skip one song because each song is that powerful !!!
I hope they play up in new england soon.

We listen to The Old Paths "Today" cd
I have not heard Old Paths sing but I am excited and cannot to wait to hear them. Brandon is my nephew and I am proud and always knew he would go far as he gives God the glory ainging with such a fine group of young men.
These guys are awesome! All of their CDs are amazing, but this one is the best. They have participated at activities at my church for the past two years and have not failed to deliver a powerful message for God yet! They are fantastic gentlemen and wonderful friends. Most importantly though, they are soldiers for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Please pray for this group as they continue to minister the gospel to those in need.
