The Month of Love

Happy Valentines month (there is too much love to give, to limit it to one day)!  As we celebrate our love for our spouses, families and friends, may all of that sharing remind us of the greatest love of all.  Love that hung on a cross for your sins and mine, Love that suffered that we might live life abundantly!

There is nothing in the world that compares to the feeling of being loved.  There is nothing that compares to the experience of giving love.  I believe that is because “Perfect love casteth out fear”(I John 4:18)!  If there is no fear, your relationships are peaceful, just as God intended!!

We asked some of our artists to share their thoughts regarding Valentines Day with you!

What is your most memorable Valentines Day?

Lisa Archer and FamilyLisa Archer (Living Sacrifice) The first Valentine’s Day that my son gave me a homemade card that had glued hearts on construction paper and his own handwriting that said “I love you Mommy”.

Boyce Flener (Crossmen Quartet) The way my memory is going...the last one!!

Randy Swift Several years ago I wrote Rhonda a poem for Valentines Day called " One Day Early"... I sent it with (3) Red Roses the day before Valentines (one for each member of our family) stating that everybody sent something on Valentines day mostly due to the expectation... The poem expressed my love for my wife and our son and spoke of our hopes and dreams for this life but more importantly pointed out that Love is an unending thing to be given liberally every day. I pledged in the poem that from that year on I would send my Valentine gift "One Day Early" to emphasize every year that my gift was out of true love and not just sent because it was the day the everybody is expected to send something... The poem touched her so that he had it printed on parchment paper and framed with a matte that has (3) Roses cut out in it.

Alan Poynter (Stateline Quartet) The year that I was stunned when flowers were delivered to ME from my wife!

Why do you think it is so important to let your loved ones know you love them?

Jerry BennettJerry Bennett  The existence of loved ones is not guaranteed.  Things change in a moment, nothing is more precious than letting people know how you feel in case you are never granted the opportunity to express those feelings again.

Lisa Archer (Living Sacrifice)  Maslow’s hierarchy of needs includes the need for a sense of belonging.  How can you feel as though you “belong” if you don’t feel loved?  People need love to survive....that’s why God sent His only Son - to show us just how much He loved US!!!!

Boyce Flener(Crossmen Quartet)  We are only here for a short time and if you are not careful, a loved one could slip right out of your life without ever knowing how you felt.

Andy Biggs (Stateline Quartet) It is so important to let our loved ones know we love them because you never know when this hug or kiss or exchange of words may be the last!

How do you express love to your family?

Jerry Bennett- Phone calls, visits and spending time together.

Lisa Archer (Living Sacrifice) Lots of hugs and kisses and spending TIME together!!!

Boyce Flener (Crossmen Quartet) By being the best husband and father I can be.

Larry Biggs (Stateline Quartet) I do my very best to be the same husband, the same dad and the same PePaw every day.  I don’t want my loved ones to wonder who or what I will be the next time the see me!

Do you have a Valentines Day tradition?

Lisa Archer (Living Sacrifice)  CHOCOLATE of course!!!!

Boyce Flener (Crossmen Quartet) Flowers for my girls!

All Stateline Quartet Members: We all like to send flowers or some nice gift to our wives (or in Tim’s case, significant other) and like all God’s children you might find us going out to eat!

I hope you take time to celebrate your love for others in a special way!  We at Zion Music Group love and appreciate each of you!  We pray God’s richest blessings on you and your family in 2006!
