Hello SoGospel Readers,
Wow! Can you believe August is already here? Summer is one of the busiest times of the year for us and many others. This summer has brought a bit of a change, but a good change, in our extended family. Our cousin, Leah Bayne has been active in missions for several years, working with the BSU (Baptist Student Union). Among many national mission trips, she spent the summer of 2003 in South Africa; a trip that changed her life. Last fall she had the opportunity to visit Chile. She's always felt the Lord's calling for her life would be in missions and last year's trip confirmed exactly where. She's been given the opportunity to teach missionary's children at the Santiago Christian Academy - Santiago, Chile for a year. July 23rd we said goodbye and we were sad to see Leah go, but we know that this is God's will for her. Please keep Leah in your thoughts and prayers. If you'd like to send a word of encouragement to her please feel free. Leah's e-mail address is: .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)
For many of us there are times we feel that we're going in the right direction but can't understand why we haven't already made it to our destination. Patience is a hard thing to learn. For Leah, the years she spent traveling on mission trips, still wondering what the Lord had planned for her life, weren't wasted years. Those years were simply preparing her for where she is now; and where she is now is just preparation for what's ahead. The same is true for all of us. Don't think of where you are now as a stand-still or "dead time" in your life. I believe everyday prepares you for tomorrow. Every trial you go through is preparation for the blessings and valleys ahead. The things I go through now, I never would have had the strength to face if the Lord hadn't taken me through hard times in the past. So remember that everyday is important. It's just another day of God preparing the way.
God Bless,
