There has always been something about family harmony that can’t be beat. The Lesters have always had unstoppable harmony and blend. They have been amazing audiences for close to 85 years and are better than ever. Their new project, Call for Freedom, does not disappoint to supply the harmony and style that is so uniquely the Lesters.
Opening with “When the Saints,” a medium tempo song with a Celtic-country feel, the listener is immediately reminded of the Christian’s struggle and urged to worship. “Hold on to Jesus” is a beautiful ballad featuring Jenny Revelle. Jenny has become an incredible soprano and her ability to communicate a song is fabulous. “That’s the Truth” features Emma Revelle, Jenny’s daughter. There are some that will argue children shouldn’t be on stage. But when a child like Emma has control of her voice at 6 years old, I say we should encourage her. “What Faith Does” is a medium tempo song featuring Jonathan. He sings the best on this song of any I’ve ever heard Jonathan do. The song is a great reminder of what faith can do for anyone willing trust. “That’s What the Blood Said” features Brian who, in this reviewer’s opinion is one of the most solid singers I’ve ever heard. Ginger, group arranger, takes two southern gospel classics, “When I Thank Him for what He has Done” and “It’s Gonna Be Wonderful” and puts a more contemporary feel on them as only she can do.
Overall, Lester fans will be more than thrilled with this project. My only negative is that occasionally the background vocals have a tendency to over power the soloist in the mix. However, there is not one song without amazing spiritual truths and challenges that everyone needs to be reminded of from time to time.

I thought their cd "No Doubt" was their best product possible, I called it one of the best releases for the new century. This follow up project, leaves it in a cloud of dust.
