The Kellys started 50 years ago as a family group. The group has changed and evolved as members left the group. New faces have appeared several times over the years. In 2009, The Kellys celebrated their 50th year of singing the gospel with a concert and a new project titled The Kellys 50 years. The original Kellys were present as were many previous members of the group.
In celebration of their 50 years, The Kellys have released a 2 disc set entitled The Kellys 50. With 2 discs to listen to, there were several that I enjoyed. First Flight is a great upbeat tempo song featuring the bass vocals of Eric Harvey. It is followed up by a beautiful ballad called Past to Presence. This song reminds us that when we come to Jesus just as we are and ask for forgiveness, He forgets all of our past. They covered several songs but did a very nice job on them. Particularly I Will Go On and Home in the Sky.
Disc 2 features different incarnations of The Kellys. Their rendition of Sinner Saved By Grace is particularly moving. Land of No Time is old time southern gospel feel in a song that is recently written. Wedding Music is neat with that old school covered sound. I’m in Love with Jesus has a great up-tempo sound and they just have fun with the song. It comes through in the recording. The second disc closes out with The Middle Cross. This is one of the stand out performances. They did an excellent job and it was a great way to close out this collection.
There are several live cuts on disc 2, which I enjoyed. It would’ve been neat to have disc 2 be an entirely live recording of their 50th anniversary concert.

Great bunch of guys with a real heart to "Minister"! Glad to see the review!
Great bunch of guys. They care about people and are a friend to you from the first time you meet them. Great sound too!!
I have known Jon, Keith and Gorden for many years, these guys are always fun to sing with. Our families go way back through the years in gospel music.
