The Heartmen - The Introduction

Having recorded at Goldmine Recording Studios and being engineered by Daniel Riley and Jerry Lloyd, there should be no doubts that this CD is a good recording.  Based out of Mississippi, this group shows they are capable of giving a great performance. Their tight harmonies on practically every song are outstanding; it shows they really put effort into this recording.  The song selection is commendable, as the number of fast songs and slower songs are distributed evenly throughout the CD.

The first song on the CD has you tapping your foot and clapping your hands.  “Are You Ready” is a terrific song and would be a great pick for radio release.  One song in particular that is extraordinary in its performance is “Praise the Lord”.  This is presented in an acapella format and the harmonies are as tight as can be.  In my opinion, acapella songs on CD’s aren’t always best, but this group has proved me wrong, more than once on this CD.  “I Thank God For You” features the bass singer.  Beautifully written, by then tenor singer, Chris Cooper, this song is perfect for showing appreciation to Fathers.  “To Speak His Name” features a strong and amazing lead vocals.  Another amazing song written by Chris Cooper and Byron Benson, “When You Show Me You’re There”, will give you goose bumps. It’s an encouraging song and heartfelt.

This CD is outstanding.  Not to mention you get a special treat of hearing Danny Riley make a guest performance on “Just One Hope”.  My picks:  “Praise the Lord”, “To Speak His Name”, “When You Show Me You’re There”, “Move Right In”

Rating: STARSTARSTARSTAR
