The Dills

Your group had a big year in 2005 both professionally and personally.  Fill everyone in on what has happened with the group.

After traveling on a local basis for over 20 years, God opened doors in 2005 for us that we never would have dreamed possible.  In August 2004, not really knowing what to expect, we released "Oh, What a Beautiful City" to radio.  Almost immediately, we began getting responses from radio and listeners, and we knew God was doing something amazing in our ministry.  So to make a long year short, our first release debuted on the Singing News charts at #58, we ministered at over 100 dates in 11 different states, and all the while working 40 hour weeks at our "day" jobs.

You are releasing a brand new project this month.  What inspired the decision to record the songs that you chose?  What are some of your favorite songs from the album?

We are so exciting about this new project, "Faith".  As with any group, we listened to song after song, searching for what we felt were the right songs.  It's our prayer that God will use this project to minister to others, encouraging them on their journey and ultimately, leading them to Calvary.

There are several songs that really stand out to us on this project.  "Just the Beginning for Me" written by Aaron Wilburn, has been a favorite of ours for many years.  "I Am Redeemed", and "He Will", both written by Chris Binion, are truly close to our hearts, but I think "Jesus Never Fails" is the unanimous group favorite.  Recorded by Truth in the 80's, we felt impressed to bring this song back.  We felt people today needed to be reminded of its message, because your money will let you down, your health will decline and your friends may turn their backs on you but Jesus will always be there.  And He never fails.

What's next up to bat for your group?  In other words, what do you see in the immediate future for your ministry?

I guess we'll just have to see…  We are just praying for God's continued guidance and anointing on our ministry.  We want to continue sharing what God has done for us with those we meet, whenever and wherever He leads us.

Tell us about your worst and best concert experiences lately.
Our worst experience would definitely have to be an all day, outdoor singing this past summer.  It was hot and we were one of, what seemed like, a million groups.  The organizer had told us to be dressed and ready to sing around 11 am; so we were.  However at 6 pm we were soaked with sweat and still waiting.  With no published line up of groups and some fans waiting on us to sing, we were getting a little bit agitated.  Remember, its 100 degrees and we'd been sitting on go all day.  Other groups had come, sang and left already, but we were still waiting.  Determined not to let the devil to get the best of us, the four of us got up from the table and went behind the bus for a "prayer meeting".  We came back to the table refocused and continued waiting until 11 pm when we were the second to last group to sing.  We laugh about it now, but there was good that came of it.  Later that day we were confronted by a couple that watched us go away to refocus. Knowing the ordeal and impressed by our reaction to the situation, they commended us for handling it the way we did and to this day, they are some of our biggest supporters.

Our best concert experience?  Gosh, there are so many, but I would have to say when Stephanie Wilson, an 8 year old little girl blind from birth, accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior at a Saturday night singing this summer.  That's what it's all about…

What are the long term plans for your group?  What's the future hold for your group?

Like I said earlier, we just want to share God's amazing love with those we meet.  We are just ordinary people with ordinary problems who want to share how God is awesomely working in our lives and hopefully, make a difference in someone's life.  We hope to be doing this for a long time…
