The Chosen Ones - Lasting Legacy

Producer: Tim Parton
Label: Independent
Website: http://www.thechosenones.org

The Chosen Ones of Manchester, IL are composed entirely of family. Mike and Melanie Reuter and their 3 not so small children, Mariah, Brady and Tressa have held down the name since 2005. However the group has been in existence much longer. Mike and Melanie have been singing as The Chosen Ones since 1974 with Melanie’s brother and sister-in-law. Melanie’s wonderful alto voice and Mike’s amazing heart felt delivery have been winning crowds over ever since. Mariah has developed into a wonderful soprano. Brady is a bass singer that at 24 years old can rival many of the bass singers in our industry today. He has also become a great emcee with a wonderful sense of humor. In 2005, Tressa started singing full time with her family. Tressa is very popular with the group’s younger audience, introducing many of them to Southern Gospel for the first time.

Their latest cd is entitled Lasting Legacy is a reminder of the legacy that began back in 1974. It opens with a great upbeat song, Somebody Prayed for Me and features most of the group on a solo line at various points. That’s What Makes Grace Amazing really allows Mariah and Mike to shine on a beautiful ballad. Today I am Ready, written by Mark Mathes shows, I believe, the heart of youngest member, Tressa. Clearly, a heart for ministry has been instilled in this family and it shows here. I felt Mike’s heart from the opening line of I Will Trust You and was in tears. It was a great reminder. Not Enough Time to Pray shows the solid singer that Melanie is. Living Well is a great up-tempo fun song with great truths behind it written by Kristy Fitzwater & Tim Parton.

If you haven’t had a chance to hear The Chosen Ones, take the opportunity. Check out their schedule and pick up a copy of Lasting Legacy. You won’t be disappointed.

I have know the whole Reuter Family personally for almost 10 years. Their sound is so pleasant to my ears one, because they, being a musical family, blend so well together. Two, I know that they are sincere in their Love for the LORD and their dedication in all they do.
