Terry & Barbi Franklin - Legacy

Many folks have wondered what happened to former Gaither Vocal Band tenor, Terry Franklin. Well, he is still very much alive and well, and continues to sing and minister along with his wife, Barbi. Their music is a cross between, Inspirational, Praise & Worship and Southern Gospel with a bit of soul added in for good measure. Their latest effort "Legacy" , features many songs geared towards the church. Most of these songs are intended for challenging the church for soul winning along with edifying the saints as well as songs geared toward the Christian family.

Songs like "THE HARVEST IS HERE" and "HEART FOR THE WORLD" are meant to be songs to exhort the church to go out and win the world for Christ, while "HEAVEN'S DELIGHT" and "GREEN TREES" are wonderful songs that are written to encourage and uplift.

There are several songs geared toward the family, be it to husbands, wives, or children. "YOU CAN TELL A LOT ABOUT A MAN" (husbands, pay attention to this song!), "WE'RE NOT IN A FANTASY" and "OUR LIVING LEGACY" are great songs in their own right. While "EVERYBODY PRAISE THE LORD" and "SPIRIT OF THE LIVING GOD" are a couple of songs that lend themselves to more of a Praise & Worship vein.

The soulful "MORE THAN ENOUGH" is an added delight to this recording, while "GOD WILL BLESS" brings the scripture found in II Chronicles 7:14 ("If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.") to life.

This is a highly encouraging recording. Terry never sounded better and he and Barbi sound great together. The production is great and the tracks and singing are superb as well. But, not everyone will enjoy this recording. Those that are more into the traditional style of Southern Gospel probably would not enjoy it. But if you're looking for something a little different, but with a solid message for the Church, then you will love this recording.

Personal Favs: THE HARVEST IS HERE; YOU CAN TELL A LOT ABOUT A MAN; EVERYBODY PRAISE THE LORD; MORE THAN ENOUGH
