All I can say is, WOW!  Did these guys take things up a notch or what??  I saw a lot of potential in these guys when I reviewed their last recording, Telling the Story, and it is great to see much of that potential realized with this latest recording.  Consisting of Matt Rankin on lead, Joey Trimble singing baritone, tenor Brent Hopper and bass vocalist Matt Fouch, these guys have a sound and style that is a mix between Gold City and the Kingsmen and they are just brimming with energy, and it's contagious!

The high-energy title song, "THRONE OF GRACE " gets things off and running.  The brass track makes this robust song really pop.  As the song continues to build, you can't help but be taken in by the sheer excitement of it all.  This has all the makings of a great radio song.

The Easter themed, "HE CAME OUT OF THE GRAVE " is a powerful reminder that Christ is alive, while the traditional quartet sounding "THAT WONDERFUL DAY " reminds us of the great joy and assurance we found the day we came to the Lord.  The false ending really adds to the excitement of this tune.

Another good quartet number is the medium tempo, "I'M READY TO MOVE ".  The guys do a really good job on the song, except they seem to lose a bit of their vocal power when they change keys on the last chorus, but it's still a great song.  The "new grass" flavored "UNDER THE BLOOD " offers up something a little different for these guys, and they pull it off very well.

Featuring the tunes, "Everybody will Be Happy Over There", "Wonderful Time Up There" and "Victory Road", if you like a good bass feature, the medley aptly titled "BASS MEDLEY " will no doubt be your favorite and features some good solos by bass singer, Matt Fouch.

Written by and featuring baritone Joel Trimble, "YES HE CAN " is a slow to medium tempo tune that fits the guys very well and showcases quite well the talents of Trimble.

The Dixieland/Big Band stylings of "HE'S BEEN SO GOOD TO ME " is a highly enjoyable number and leads well into the power ballad, "WHEN I APPROACH THE THRONE ", which Matt co-wrote with Steve Cheney.

The uptempo "THAT'S WHERE MY BATTLES ARE WON " has a good campmeeting feel to it, while the acoustical flavor of "GIVE ME YOUR EYES " is an earnest prayer in song to the Lord…"Give me Your touch Lord, to feel others' pain, give me Your ears Lord, when You call my name, give me Your heart Lord, so I can weep, give me Your eyes Lord, so I can see…"  With all the energy that exudes from this whole recording, it's a nice mix to hear something simple.

"THE GOSSIP SONG " closes things out, and this could be the next "Excuses" for the millennium.  I would never advocate a song like this to radio (because even the Kingsmen will tell you that "Excuses" just about ruined them), but everyone has GOT to hear this song!  After the song is over, keep listening for some hilarious outtakes from the guys.  This alone is worth the price of the CD!

These guys made some HUGE strides between their previous recording and this one, and their hard work shows.  Excellent songwriting, tight vocals and stellar music tracks make this recording an exceptional piece of work.  Soul'd Out Quartet…remember the name; remember the music…because this is the group to watch for 2007!
