The CD starts with Joy To The World including a huge orchestrated track, which is joined by good ole Southern Gospel harmony.
The combination may sound peculiar, but it sounds wonderful. Great way to start and keep my attention. This song is followed by what could have been a Statesmen rendition of Go Tell It On The Mountain. It's a refreshing take on the old standard.
What is becoming a Christmas classic, Mary Did You Know is tracked very acoustically and sang tenderly. Nice job on a difficult song. My favorite song has to be That Night Was Anything But Silent. Performed with a Spanish flair I almost expected to see them come walking with their Sombreros on. I love the twist musically, but the message still comes through loud and clear.
No Christmas CD is complete without The Christmas Song. If your Christmas tree isn't up by the time you hear this cut, you'll be running to the attic to get is out. Jeremy McKissack proves that he is more than just a good Baritone singer as he performs a piano solo on Angles We Have Heard On High.
If anything describes this CD is would be variety. Shiloh moves from big tracks to acoustic sounds and then vocally move from traditional trio sounds to Spanish movement, to standard Southern Gospel with Glory To God In The Highest and even progressive sounds sining the Rebecca Peck and Josiah new song to the old title of Noel.
Variety and great singing, what's not to like about this CD.
Shiloh is Steve Coburn, Jeremy McKissack, and Brian White.
