Sharron Kay King - Don’t Stop Believing

Producer: Les Butler
Label: Independent Release
Website: http://www.sharronkayking.com

Whenever Sharron Kay King opens her mouth to sing, she opens her heart wide-open for everyone to take a look inside.  You can feel the warmth and passion in each note she sings.  This latest release features Sharron in her inimitable style and showcases her down home country sound that works very well for her.

From the heartfelt "A LITTLE HOPE" to her Appalachian rendition of the Goodman classic, "I WOULDN'T TAKE NOTHING FOR MY JOURNEY NOW", Sharron wraps herself around each lyric and manages to wrap herself around your heart in the process.  She takes the hymn "NO NOT ONE" and puts her own "SKK" stamp on it, as well as the song recently made popular by Legacy 5 titled, "GOD'S BEEN GOOD".

Sharron showcases some of her own penned tunes such as "THE MUSIC OF MY HEART", "WAITING ON ME" and the title song, "DON'T STOP BELIEIVING", thereby allowing us to take a deeper glimpse into her heart

"LOOK UP" is an upbeat country infested tune, while "THE STONE WAS ROLLED AWAY" showcases a bit of soul.  "I WAS ON HIS MIND" is the type of songs that Sharron excels in and is a highlight of the recording.

While this is a very good recording, I still consider her previous mainline recording, The Road I Know, to be her finest work.  This recording is bit more subdued than her last and has more of an earthy feel to it.  The song selection seemed a bit stronger in her previous recording as well.  Though I feel like this latest recording may lack in some areas, it's still a solid effort by one of my favorite soloists.
