Roy Knight Singers – Silver - The Songs of Sandy Knight

Producer: Jeff Collins
Label: Crossroads Music
Website: http://www.royknightsingers.org

Having grown up in the 1980’s, the songs of Sandy Knight play an integral part in my overall musical make-up. Aside from listening to the music of the 1960s and 1970s from my mom and dad’s record collection, I literally cut my teeth on the songs of Sandy Knight. Songs like “I Think I’ll Read it Again”, “John Saw”, “Little David”, “How Deep is the Water”, “Shouting Ground” and “Fourth Man Walking” are songs I have sung since childhood.

Starting from about 1983 until today, just about every group in Southern Gospel Music has recorded Sandy Knight songs. Gold City, Inspirations, Singing Cookes, Ivan Parker, Kingsmen, Brian Free & Assurance, Jeff & Sheri Easter, Hoppers, Karen Peck & New River, Freemans and Dove Brothers are but a few of the artists who have struck gold with her songs. While this is a compilation of some of her best known material, they’re sung by the songwriter who wrote them, and quite frankly in most cases, no one can a song quite like the writer. Sandy sings with such passion, that she makes you believe what she is singing about.

While paying homage to their in-house songwriter, the Roy Knight Singers turn in excellent renditions of these classic songs and they sing them with such power and conviction. Every one of these songs are classics, and I say this because you continue to hear them sung by various groups and singers on recordings and in concerts across the country, a true testament on the power of song.

Sandy is a blessed lady, who for over 25 years, has in turn blessed us with tremendous songs. Our hope is that it continues for another 25 years! If you’ve never acquainted yourself with her music, this recording is an excellent introduction to the songs of Sandy Knight.

Sandy is indeed one of the greatest song-writers of today. I have known her for many years and she definitely, along with her family sing with passion and conviction every song she has penned. She is a true woman of God and that is proven through her deep roots in the Word of God through every song she has written. I am so proud of all of the Roy Knight Singers... Her daughter, Tracie is unbelieveable when it comes to vocal talent but more importantly anointing, just like mom and dad... Don't miss an opportunity to see this great group when in your area.
