New JOURNEY Project a Part of Feed the Children Program
HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn.—February 24, 2005--The Oak Ridge Boys and Feed the Children have created a new tv special “An American Journey” in celebration of the Feed the Children organization and in conjunction with recent recordings and biography from The Oak Ridge Boys.
The program debuted on February 18th, and is airing on such networks as the ABC Family Channel, PAXNet Television, BET, WGN, the Black Family Channel (BFC), TV One, the Inspiration Network, Daystar and Spike TV.
“An American Journey” is airing in over 20 states in cities ranging from San Diego, Phoenix, Los Angeles, Colorado Springs and Washington, DC to Miami, Atlanta, Chicago, Boston, Detroit and Minneapolis, among others.
The Oak Ridge Boys, who have actively partnered with Feed the Children for over 20 years, will perform music from their current Spring Hill Music release The Journey including such songs as “Train, Train,” the title cut, the new single “Someplace Green” and the song “G.I. Joe & Lillie,” featured on the group’s Colors recording.
Pages from the Oak Ridge Boys’ An American Journey book (New Leaf Press) are also highlighted as part of the 30-minute special that will draw attention to many hurting individuals worldwide and how supporters can aid in the relief efforts.
“’The Journey’ is our fourth television special for Feed The Children,” described tenor Joe Bonsall. “…Instead of taping live performances as we have done previously, the songs were all shot in a video format on location at Shepherd of the Hills Park in Branson, Mo. It gives the special a fresh new look, but the theme remains the same.
“There are hungry children around our very own country who need help, and our good friends Rev. Larry and Frances Jones are on the front line of service. We are honored to be a part of it all. We believe in Feed The Children and their worldwide ministry of help and aid to those in need…and we are very blessed to have been given this opportunity.”
The Journey recording is distributed by Word Distribution/WEA. The Oak Ridge Boys are managed by Jim Halsey, of The Jim Halsey Company. For further information, visit http://www.oakridgeboys.com or http://www.springhillmusic.com
