News From Daywind

Welcome to the first "News From Daywind" article. Deon and Susan have graciously agreed to let me write a monthly article keeping you updated on what's going on with Daywind and our artists. Thank you Deon and Susan for this opportunity.

imageMany of you by now have heard the sad news of the passing of Pauline "Mom" Lewis. Mom passed away on Saturday, February 8th. She was 92 years old. At this years past SGMA Awards she received The Miss Ina Award for her faithfulness and dedication to Southern Gospel Music. I remember sitting at our table thinking what a wonderful dedication she had to her family. Even though she was not on stage she was always there encouraging and taking care of her family. I remember sitting there listening to Jerry Goff talk about how she would pack lunches and dinners for her family, make sure the girls clothes were clean and how she just took care of everything at home so they could go and sing. It was just that simple that she knew that's what The Lord had called this wonderful family to do That's the kind of woman I hope I can strive to be one day. Please continue to remember The Lewis Family and their families in your prayers.

With every window that is closed God always opens another one. Please keep Jason & Shellye Crabb in your prayers. Their baby is due at any time. Hopefully we should have some wonderful news for you in the next couple of days. This is their first child and they are so excited. My husband and I have a five year old little boy and another baby due in March so I understand the excitement of having your first baby.

Also, I want to pass along the good news that Mike and Kelly Bowling are expecting another baby. Kelly should be due sometime in the fall. Angie Hoskins Aldridge of The Hoskins Family is also expecting another baby in March. Angie is expecting a little boy. I'm a firm believer that every Mom needs a little boy so they can wrap you around their finger. I know that's where my son has me.

I know that many DJ's will hopefully read this article so I just want to say "Thank You" for playing our music. We are going to have a very busy year according to the production schedules that I've seen around here. We have new projects coming out every month. That is going to keep all of us busy. Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you. If you haven't received Daywind Radio Compilation CD #47 please let us know. We have new songs on the CD that you do not want to miss. The new radio singles "I Found Grace" and "The Walk" from Legacy Five and The Crabb Family are on this CD. Also, new singles from Old Time Gospel Hour Quartet, Greater Vision, The Freemans and Lisa Daggs-Charette are on this CD.

Something is always going on here at Daywind. Again, we are very excited about what this new year is going to bring. Hopefully each month I will be able to let you in on all of our excitement.

I hope that everyone has a very Happy Valentine's Day.

God Bless,
Rhonda Thompson
