Mercy’s Well - Journey Of A   Lifetime

Produced by Kevin Ward
Recorded at Kilowatt Studios, Murfreesboro, TN
Label – Independent

Mercy's Well is a young group with a lot of potential. The songwrtiters listed is like a who's who in Southern Gospel Music. Writers like Rebecca Peck, Joel Lindsey, Chris Binion, Shari, LaFontaine, Jeff Silvey, and Rodney Griffin would seem to make this CD an automatic success. There are some great songs on this project.

The first four songs on the CD are excellent. The vocals are full of excitement and energy, and the tracks are bold. The opening song "Journey Of A Lifetime" has the type of harmony that Southern Gospel is all about.

"For The First Time" is a powerful song with a different twist on the story on the blind man who was healed. The song is performed with real drive. One of the tests of a good group is how they can pull off a nice ballad and Mercy's Well passes the test on "Oh The Blood Of Christ". The expression is nice and the harmonies are once again very solid.

Showing some diversity "Ready To Fly" has some nice but different guitars in the track. The unison backup spots are really tight. This may be my favorite song on the whole CD. I'm not sure that I would have chosen "Sunlight" as an a capella number, but the guys do a respectable job of it

I can't quite put my finger on it, but starting with song number 6, "Heaven, It Won't Be Long", the tracks seem to lose their intensity, especially when the strings come in. As a result the vocals also lose intensity. The song though has a great message. The same could be said of "He Could Never Ask Too Much Of Me," another song with a fantastic message, but the intensity just isn't there like in the first four songs.

The more acoustic track on "Old Campmeetin'" seems to pick up the energy again and you fill find your toes tapping on this arrangement. "If I'm Wrong" seems to pick up again as it is a piano based track and the expressive singing has more brilliance.  The message of this song is thought provoking.

All in all it's an above average CD and well worth your attention.

Mercy's Well is a group that will be well known before too long. If this cd is any indication of what is in store, it won't be long before these guys top the charts. With some recent investigation, Mercy's Well as added some new vocalist which may well be their strongest vocal line-up yet! Be on the lookout for these guys! They are on the rise! Check out their nice website also: http://www.mercyswell.com

I absolutely love these guys. They have a way of connecting to the audience no matter what age you may be. I never really got into Southern Gospel Music, but after I heard them live I became a fan! They kept my attention the whole concert and I felt so encouraged and uplifted afterward. It was truly an experience that I will remember for a long time. Thanks to them they have opened up an avenue I never thought I would take part in. Now I try to make it to at least 2 Southern Gospel concerts a month! Thanks you guys!

These guys are really great. The group has two new guys now. One I have known all of his life.
They have the nicest trio blends that I have heard in gospel music. There is a lot of talent here, singing and instrumental. Can't wait for the new CD that is to come out this year. The songs really touch your heart and they sing them with true conviction. In there concerts you will laugh, cry and shout for joy! and sometimes all in one song. Keep it up. Keep uplifting JESUS !!

I have enjoyed the expereince of listening to this latest CD. The harmonies were good on the CD but they get even better in person with the new vocalists. The dynamics are great and the sound is strong. If you ever get a chance to see them in concert, don't miss it. You will not be disappointed. Most impressive is the heart that each member has to see people reached and ministered to. This CD does just that from the Blood of Christ to explanations to the lost in "If I'm Wrong" to the get-up-n-go of "Old Camp Meetin'" to the hope we all share as believers in "Heaven it wont be long", the arrangements are well structured and have been placed in such a way as to reach the lost and minister to the believer. Well done my friends. Looking forward to the next offering.

I met the guys at Fan Fair last summer, and they have since become some of my favorite people. I love this project, and can't wait to hear more from them.

"Journey of a Lifetime" is one of my favorite CD's. These guy's have a genuine love of the Lord and their faith shines through each and every song. The concerts are very entertaining and uplifting. Mercy's Well is going places and I can't wait to watch them shine in the light of the Lord! Our small southern town is proud to have one of our own in the trio!
