The first song, “Get Ready”, is a good, upbeat song to start the project off. I’ve heard this song on radio before and liked it then. These guys do a good job on it. “He’s All The Above”, is the next song, which is also the title of this project. This is more of a slower ballad, type song. It’s got some real pretty harmonies in it. Great words to this song. The soloist on this song has a beautiful high range on the end of the second verse. “Praise the Lord, Hallelujah, Amen”, picks the pace back up. This is a good, Church of God, Campmeeting style song. The addition of the well-known song, “Amen”, in the middle of this really makes the song. Great song. The tempo slows back down with the next song, “Everything The Blood Touches Lives”. Another great song. Awesome message in the song. “This One Thing I Know”, is a medium tempo song. It sounds like a song from the red back hymnal. I love the piano being the dominant instrument on this song. This is what I call a “head-bobber” style song. I like it. Cut number six is titled, “Stand By Me”. It’s more of a bluegrass style song. This one is not particularly my favorite. This is a little of a leap for these guy’s style. There are parts where one of the guys sounds like he’s straining, like the note is a little too high for him. The tenor is having to sing falsetto because it seems a little too high for him as well. Maybe a lower key might have been better for this song. The traditional, “Power In The Blood”, is the next song. The music has a Latin feel to it. The guy who sings the second verse does a good job on it. The tempo goes into double-time towards the end then switches back at the very end. The reprise gives the people a chance to really get into the song, and in concert, maybe stand up and enjoy it a little more. That’s a neat arrangement they‘ve put to it. The next song, “Coming Into His Presence”, is jazzy. I love it! The harmonies are pretty tight on this particular song. It’s got a smooth, Booth Brothers feel to it. Very nice. “End Of The Glory Road” has a country sound. It’s got a medium tempo to it. The fiddle was a great instrumental choice in this song. Cut number ten is, “I Know What He Did For Me”. The mandolin adds a nice touch to the music. The song has a great message in it. Ending up with everyone high really makes the song. “When Morning Sweeps”, is a good old Happy Goodman song. I love this song. It’s so diverse. There are four different parts going on at once. I remember the first time I ever heard this song, it was done by The Perrys. I fell in love with it then, which has been several years ago. Master’s Voice did a great job on it!
There are great song selections on this project. This is a good group. These guys have some good harmonies. They blend well together. I give this project 4 stars to leave room for even better stuff! Good job guys!
