Maps, Steering, and the Driver’s Seat

I cannot believe we are already approaching springtime. It is peeking around the corner and I am curling my finger back toward me saying “Come On In.” I love spring! The weather in Tennessee is wonderful. You northerners know the old saying about March in the north. It comes in like a lion and it goes out like a lamb. I grew up in Michigan, so I know it well....brrrrrr! But here in Tennessee.....it comes in and goes out like a lamb. Thank YOU Jesus! Some people like winter....I am not one of them. I have been pondering alot lately...I tend to ponder...lol! In all serious...I am not sure when I have time to ponder. My schedule has grown kind of crazy. When I am not on the road, I spend a lot of time in the studio producing and OH...I LOVE IT! But, in prioritizing my thoughts, I have been thinking about the Hand of GOD in my life and in my family and ministry....How AMAZING and AWESOME it is and how it moves and WHAT I need to do to stay out of the way and let it. So many times we make plans for our life. BUT, here is the amazing thing...GOD has plans that far exceed our own. That’s right...His PLANS are WAY COOL! Ours are more than likely mediocre in comparison! I could not have even imagined God’s plans for our family. If it had been up to me...if I had grabbed the map and drawn out the route myself...It is likely I would have taken the prettiest route, but ultimately we would have ended up in downtown discontent. Actually now that I think about it....I have been in the city square....several times. You see...I often grab that map and redraw the route. And it is not that God takes His hand off of the wheel....It is that I nudge it away and begin to steer myself. God’s route may have some twists and turns....it might even take us in a direction we hadn’t planned to go. We might have to take in some painful scenery along the way. But....Oh when we get to the place he wants us to be....And when we are willing to let Him show us what he had in mind about our destination....What a WOW MOMENT! God is moving in our ministry. We are seeing many people some to Christ. It has been so thrilling. In addition, we are working with Compassion International and watching God touch through that effort. It has been AWESOME! All I can say right now is....I HOPE I CAN JUST SIT ON MY HANDS and LET HIM DRIVE! Great Article Donna, I think that God is moving in your ministry and life to touch others. I can see that. Don't worry about "letting him drive", looks like that is already happening.
