July 19th, 2003 Is the Date to Remember

The 4th Annual SoGospelNews.com Convention is quickly approaching. July 19th, 2003 is going to be an exciting day. Smyrna, TN is the place to be. Each group performing was hand picked by the staff of SoGospelNews.com. Before hearing these oustanding groups, the staff thought it only fair that a little be told about each of them. Carrying on from last month, here's a few more groups who will be performing.

Hopes Call:

Hope's CallTheir mission is to share the hope that is found in Jesus. Simple enough. This total family group, based out of Woodhaven, MI, consists of mom, Donna Beauvais, her daughter Jessica, and Eddie Harrison (now fiance of Jessica).Donna's husband, Paul is manager of the group.

Hope's Call was chosen as the Grand Prize Winners of the 2001 Solid Gospel "Big One" National Talent Search. The group has had much success since their formation, but they consider the greatest reward seeing souls saved and lives changed through their Savior. The prayer of their heart is that the blessings He brings to their ministry will only allow them more opportunity to share the TRUE PRIZE... Jesus.

Hope's Call can be recognized by their hit radio releases, such as "I'll Be Gone" written by Donna Beauvais herself, "No Trouble At All; written by Rebbecca Peck, and a brand new single "Keep On Keepin' On; written by Marty Funderburk and Daryl Williams. Hope's Call just recently signed with Belmont Music Group.

The message Hope's Call brings in a ministry service will uplift and encourage you. They sing of a hope that begins in knowing Jesus and continues throughout eternity, which is the blessed hope awaiting all Christians.

Southern Sound Quartet:

Southern SoundThese four men seem determined on reviving that polished style of quartet singing, and the real bonus is, they're doing it for all the right reasons, serving Christ through a ministry of song and testimony. They of course, sing great, but their testimony is also powerful and inspiring. To get the full impact of these men you must, without doubt, hear and see them face-to-face.

Consisting of Charles Brantley - Bass, Roger Sweeney - Tenor, Ben Harris - Lead, and Keith Harris - Baritone and based out of Nashville, this group is one of the true southern gospel quartets out today. Deeply rooted in Southern Gospel, Southern Sound Quartet has an infectious enthusiasm, stage presence and fine sense of what is spiritually needed. They are refreshing and talented, yet familiar and comfortable, sounding as if they've been singing together forever.

Exclusively recording with Zion Music Group, Southern Sound Quartet is without a doubt going nowhere but up.

New Ground:

New GroundNew Ground, a mixed trio, was formed by husband and wife team, Dale and Robbie Maxwell in May of 1993. They have seen great things happen with this group and its continued ministry.

Dale is the manager and sings baritone for the group. He has been involved in gospel music ever since he was a child. His family sang until his teen years and he became very active in other regional groups around the North Alabama area.

Robbie is fulfilling a life long dream and an answered prayer. She had always loved gospel music and enjoyed attending concerts but she did not have the vocal ability to be a singer. After marrying Dale and going to the concerts with him a desire began to form and she prayed that the Lord would give her a talent and she promised that she would use that talent for Him. Dale began to help Robbie and her talent as an alto singer began. She has been singing since 1986.

David Owens rounds out the trio with his wonderful tenor voice. David has been involved in music all of his life and has served as a Music Minister at two area churches and has sung professionally with the Southern Gospel trio, The Steeles. David is married and has three children.

As you can see, New Ground is made up of a dedicated group of Christians who love the Lord and His music.

The Menders:

The MendersThe Menders are Phillip Emery, Pauline Emery and Kendra Adamson. Phillip and Pauline have been singing together about 13 years. During that time, they traveled full-time for almost two years singing and ministering to people all across America. They have recorded 5 projects and have had songs to appear in the Singing News Top 80 chart. In 1993, at an awards presentation in Dallas, Texas, the Menders were given the Trailblazers Award by the International Country Gospel Music Association for being the Top New Duet. Originally from Southern Illinois, Phillip & Pauline moved to Tennessee about 4 years ago to work in the music industry. Phillip owns and operates DJ Man Promotions, a radio promotions company.

Phillip & Pauline have 5 children, 2 girls and 3 boys, a two year old grandson and an 8 year old granddaughter. Kendra, the oldest daughter lives in Nashville with her husband David. Kendra went into the studio for the first time a few months ago to record a new project with the Menders. Their latest radio single, "Breath Of The Spirit", features Kendra.

SoGospelNews.com is planning for a great event and hope that you will not only take our word for it, but will join us in celebrating 4 exciting years gone past, and more to come!
