Well Jim can carry the torch on. I loved their music. When Jim left I knew it was soon over. But, I wish them the best. Not blasting anyone. Just letting Hoskins fans know-Jim Mahalcik is still singing and traveling.

Had a chance to see this very talented group when they passed through Arkansas and I was very impressed with their unique style of SG. My daughter enjoyed Angie's powerful and inspiring voice. We pray for healing and a quick return.

No one said anything about it being over for the Hoskins........sorry to disappoint you! The family has been through a lot of grief sincs my grandfather passed away 3 months ago, we are battleing sickness with my grandmother along with some other illnesses due to his passing. Instead of thinking on the negative lets think on the positive. We should pray for others instead of wanting them to fail.

Angie I am not dissapointed. Gospel music has plenty of groups that are able to stay on the road. I was only extended a kind arm to Hoskins fans, that Jim is going to carry on your legacy.

    I pray for your family

Lu- I think you are being incredibly rude to the Hoskins Family. My goodness, extend some grace and support during this time, they are going through a very hard time.

    Jenn,
Hi, my husband is a minister. I would never say anything to hurt anyone. Let me point something out to you-

    <<<<<<Angie said-
No one said anything about it being over for the Hoskins........sorry to disappoint you!

Oh please- Nobody said they were happy they were disbanding. I said the former members had chosen to continue singing, while Angie and her family did not.

    <<<<<<<Angie-
We should pray for others instead of wanting them to fail.

I never once wanted anyone to fail. I honestly think she is lashing out at me for supporting Jim. And honestly I dont really know any of them enough to get in the middle of their differences.

If the moderator feels I have been rude. I apologize. But, as for the other viewers. I feel I was being supportive of the remaining members who wanted to continue ministering, and prayerful for the ones that were asking for time to be ministered to.

    Sorry/God Bless

    Lu,

I have read your comment over and over again. I'm sorry to inform you, but nothing about your first comment sounds as though you were being supportive in any way. I read where you said that you didn't really know them ...well, that's quite obvious. In fact, if you did know them, you would know that The Hoskins Family was singing before Jim came, and they WILL continue to sing.

Please don't take this wrong way, Jim is a good singer, but he didn't make The Hoskins Family. Do you know how many great singers there are in gospel music? One thing that sticks out in your comment is, and I quote, “When Jim left I knew it was soon over.” unquote. What does that mean?

Look, I think Jim is an awesome singer. However, this is sad news, and the comments on this page should be to uplift The Hoskins Family, not Jim Mahalick.

Zechariah 7:9 - Thus speaketh the Lord of hosts, Execute true judgement, and show mercy and compassion every men to his brother.

I have, and WILL continue to support The Hoskins Family. You guys are simply the best to me. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I dont feel its a time of sadness. If a group quits.I know God calls people in different directions.I think the sadness is the war in IRAQ. The starving children in America. Not the disbanding of a group. To be honest-if you read it over and over. It makes me wonder about the validity of the post. Its also a new email account-Just registered on yahoo , and its a first time post. So, I figure until a real southerngospelnews user post the feelings and reviews you did, I will not expand on your post.

    Lu,

I will say this again. The comments on this page should be to uplift The Hoskins Family, not Jim Mahalick.

By the way, when I say that I have read this over and over, I meant today. I tried to understand where you were coming from, but that didn't happen. It makes no since.

I am sorry to hear that The Hoskins Family are having to take time off. They are a great group and I know this must be hard for them. I have had to take time away myself in times past due to things beyond my control. But if they are willing. God will make a way for them to continue when the time is right. As far as the argument I have seen going on in some of the other comments. I am very disappointed. Gospel music is a ministry. Not just another field of entertainment. Those who can't see that have missed the point entirely. Pray for The Hoskins ministry to continue and His blessing on their lives. Even if it means change or new direction for them then so be it according to His will. But never forget why they do what they do.May God guide and bless----Tim

    Well y'all, I don't believe in all this fighting/conspiracy muble-jumble.
First I want to address Honest Opinion's comment about lifting up the Hoskins Family. I'm sure it was well intended, but I don't think the Hoskins would want anyone lifting them up--from what I know of the Hoskins Family, they would only want people to lift up the Lord. Also, I'm sure they support Jim in his endeavors, as I am sure Jim is praying for their well being. Let's not always think the worst!!!

I am uplifting their spirt not them personaly. Please forgive me if it appears to be otherwise. I simply am saying that the Hoskins family needs support at this time. We are to encourage our brothers and sisters in Christ, not bring them down.
