It's often the case for an artist who's first recording was as grand an affair as Gordon Mote's first national vocal release, that it completely overshadows the following release. Simply put, many times the sophomore release ends up falling short.but that is not the case with Don't Let Me Miss the Glory, Gordon's second major vocal release. Featuring Gordon with several of his friends such as the Isaacs, Gaither Vocal Band, Voices of Lee, Charlotte Ritchie and Alison Krauss, Gordon still remains front and center as he weaves his magic through each song, singing with the charm and contagious energy that he is so well known for.
The recording features a montage of musical styles, all the while maintaining the strong country sound that makes Gordon who he is. Even the Praise & Worship stylings of the opener, "ADORATION" and the title song, "DON'T LET ME MISS THE GLORY" feature a strong country beat and is two of the best tunes on the recording.
Gordon shines on the uptempo, fun tunes like "I KNOW SOMEBODY WHO DOES", "ALL THAT NOISE" and "AIN'T GONNA GIVE UP ON GOD", but also does equally well on the emotional, thought provoking tunes like "WAKE UP DANCIN'" and 'THE OTHER SIDE OF TIME" (which Gordon co-wrote with Chaz Bosarge). One of my favorite tunes is "(MIDNIGHT SHIFT AT THE) MAPLEWOOD METHODIST CHURCH" which pays tribute to those who labor on the front lines, the local pastor. I can see a lot of churches using this for special days like Pastor Appreciation Day and such.
Of course, Gordon walks the straight Southern Gospel path (or at least walks along side of it) with the likes of "GET UP IN JESUS' NAME" and "MERCY WALKED IN", which are both extremely well done, as is Gordon's soulful performance of the Southern Gospel classic, "I CAN'T EVEN WALK (WITHOUT YOU HOLDING MY HAND)". Complete with a black choir sound, this is one of the best renditions of this song I've heard to date.
Gordon and his wife, Kimberly perform a duet together on the Steven Curtis Chapman classic, "MY REDEEMER IS FAITHFUL AND TRUE" before the recording closes with the Inspirational tune entitled, "THIS LIFE."
I suppose if I had to poke a hole into anything concerning this recording, it's how the recording ends. I wouldn't have recommended the final 3 tunes be slower tempo songs, but outside of that, this is a stellar effort all the way around. Fans of Gordon Mote already have their expectations set very high, and this new recording by Mote will not disappoint in any way! Killer music tracks, excellent vocals and a great line up of songs make this the record to beat for Gordon. This is a Home Run all the way.

I'm looking forward to hearing this one. It was on my wish list for my bday but I didn't get it. Maybe at Christmas!
This CD is absoulutely wonderful. I love just about all the songs on it and even the people who are so Gospel fans love Adoration. What a blessing this is to me.
Great Album!!! We saw Gordon in concert last month at the Stamps-Baxter School of Music and he brought the house down.
I got this at a recent Ernie Haase & Signature Sound concert where Gordon was their pianist. It's a great CD. When Gordon did DON'T LET ME MISS THE GLORY on stage, I knew I had to have the CD.
God is good all the time & all the time God is good.

I was blown away by one of his songs while in concert with EHSS in Greensboro NC. His story is moving enough alone. God Bless You Gordon. You are an inspiration for all.
I bought the cd to listen to the upbeat songs such as "get Up In Jesus Name" but fell in love with "Mercy Walked In". You've got to listen this great song. The album overall is great.
I heard the "Mercy Walked In" on television during the Gaither Hour. I loved the song and Gordon voice is so great. I hope to see him and the rest of the "gang" in Wichita Falls, Tx. in October.
