Gold City - Mar 2006

I hope all is going well with you. Things are busy around here as we are keeping the roads hot and working on a new album. We have been having some great concerts. God has been moving and we have seen several people saved. That’s what it’s all about! In between concerts and recording sessions we are doing our best to sneak in as much family time as possible. Speaking of family time, my little Sadie is nine months old now, crawling all over the place and cutting teeth. She thinks her daddy is the bomb! (pride beameth forth)

Changes...

Well, the cat is out of the bag before I can get the news out to you as usual, but I will share it anyway for those of you who aren’t in “the loop.” Bill is leaving the road. As bad as I hate to see him go, we support his decision. He did a great job for us and we wish him the best. I know I am going to miss him. I have asked my dad to come with us until we find a replacement. (Yes, that is the best I could do) For anyone interested in applying for the position, you can email a resume and demo to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). You can also mail it to our office.

More changes...

We would like to welcome to our ranks Mr. Kyle Strickland. Kyle is our new sound tech. We have known him for most of his life as his family has been coming to see us for years. He also married my little sister, Amy. If my calculations are correct, that makes him my brother-in-law. Next time you see us, make sure to stroll by the sound booth and tell him to turn it down! Just kidding… stop by and say hello to him. I’m sure he’d love to meet you.

Never a dull moment...

I got a real kick out of this and I know you will. The other night we were on our way home and needed to stop for some liquid gold. (Diesel fuel) We were pulling into the truck stop when Jonathan noticed that a cow had escaped a nearby pasture. He asked me to stop the bus so I pulled off to the side of the road. I wasn’t sure exactly what we were doing but before I could pull the brake he had jumped off the bus. What happened next was nothing short of amazing. He started talking to the cow, and the cow was listening. She didn’t want to hear what he had to say at first and he had to be stern, but he and the cow had a good talk and Jonathan somehow talked her into going back into the pasture with all the other cows. He stepped back onto the bus with a proud look on his face, knowing he had done a good thing. Then Steve asked, “What’s that smell?” I’ll let you figure out the rest.
