Washington, DC - Several of Southern Gospel Music’s most popular recording artists will be featured in Washington, DC, during Independence Day Weekend, July 3 and 4, 2009. Greater Vision, Legacy Five and The Pfeifers will host Freedom Celebration 2009 at the Hyatt Regency in Reston, VA, a suburb of our nation’s capital. Joining these three popular groups for the Independence Day weekend celebration will be popular comedian, Dennis Swanberg.
This week, organizers of the event announced that Colonel Oliver North will also be featured on Friday evening, July 3. “We had Colonel North last year at our Memorial Day Celebration in Nashville, TN,” Legacy Five’s Scott Fowler stated, “and he was the most exciting and inspiring speaker of the entire three-day event. He is a true American hero!” John Pfeifer added, “We are thrilled to have Colonel North to be a part of our inaugural Freedom Celebration event. He is an honored Marine and best selling author, who shares an inspiring message. As we celebrate our freedom at this Independence Day celebration, it’s only fitting that this decorated hero would be a part of the celebration. We are truly honored.”
