Chuck Wagon Gang’s first ever “Fan Reunion Festival”

(Pigeon Forge, TN) The Chuck Wagon Gang has announced plans for their first annual "Chuck Wagon Gang Fan Reunion Festival" to be held Saturday April 21st at 2 PM in Bristol, VA.

This historical event, featuring the "old fashioned singing" Chuck Wagon Gang, takes place under a "Big Gospel Tent" in an old fashioned style setting. Visible from the interstate on I-81 at Exit 5 in Bristol, VA, this easy to find festival under the tent will feature great music, food, fun and fellowship with the fans who love their music.

Carrying on a legacy that was born over seventy years ago, today the Chuck Wagon Gang is the oldest recording gospel group still performing with ties to the original founding. Current members of the group are Dave Emery, Shaye Truax, Stan Hill, Julie Hudson, and Joe Rotten.

"This is something we have talked about for some time" stated Dave Emery, from the Chuck Wagon Gang's office in Pigeon Forge, TN. "We wanted to provide a venue where our very dear friends from all over can join us for a special time. This area is the perfect location."

Joining the Chuck Wagon Gang for this first ever event, and serving as emcee and performer, is Steve Warren. Steve has had several radio hits in recent years on the national music charts. Opening for the festival will be "Saved By Grace" and "The McNally's", two very popular artists in that area.

"We are extending invitations to all former performing members of the Chuck Wagon Gang that we can locate," said Shaye Truax, great grand-daughter of D.P. (Dad) Carter, founder of the Chuck Wagon Gang in 1936. Each former member who attends will be able to sing or play their respective parts with us in a special segment at this festival."

Promoter Jim Black added, "This year's festival is a one-day event. However, next year's dates have already been set for two days, allowing more time, artists and events at the Viking Hall in Bristol. TN. I'm excited to have WIGN-AM 1550 and WGYB-TV 5 as co-media sponsors for this promotion. WIGN has just increased it power to 50,000 watts and WGYB, an NBC affiliate, is the number one TV station in the market. Proceeds from the event will benefit the "Mountain Empire Baptist School" of the Belle Meadows Baptist Church in Bristol. The school is providing the new beautiful tent for the festival. It will be a fun day!"

Tickets are $12.00 and may be purchased at or by phone from WIGN (276-591-5800) 1739 Euclid Avenue - Bristol, TN or Belle Meadows Baptist Church (276-669-4023) - 619 Wagner Road, Bristol, VA or at Discount Christian Books - Bristol, VA and Gospel Book Store - Bristol, TN.
