There's no denying the fact that I've been a huge fan of the Booth Brothers for the last couple years. I loved their undeniable harmonies on their Spring Hill debut The Booth Brothers, and became an even bigger fan with the release of the award-winning The Blind Man Saw It All. The Booth Brothers have gone on to become some of the industry's leading groups, much do to the success of those two albums and last year's Harmony.
Carry On is the group's latest independent release after leaving Spring Hill and before releasing their highly anticipated Daywind Records debut. For the most part, the album is pretty low-key, including a whopping three upbeat numbers. The album kicks off with the group's engaging harmonies on "At the Right Time" and unique vocal arrangement of "All Creatures of Our God & King." Jim Brady turns in a stellar vocal on "Tears Are a Language" before tearing up their cover of the Gaither Vocal Band's "Passing the Faith Along."
Their cover of the Oak Ridge Boys classic "No More" is an album highlight with Ronnie's always stellar vocal performance. Jim and Ronnie aren't the only ones to turn out great vocals, as Michael gets a chance to show off on the impressive "Over the Moon." Jim makes things interesting with the Imperials' classic "I'm Forgiven" that features a fantastic horn section. The group also tears it up on the Hinson original "Hallelujah Meeting". The song also features a great encore for the song that is both unexpected and totally satisfying.
The album closes with two more ballads - "The Eyes of Jesus" and "Restore My Soul." Overall, this album isn't the kind of progressive masterpiece that The Blind Man Saw It All was, but fans of the Booth Brothers' tight, smooth harmonies will certainly eat this album up. It's the kind of album that fans will continually come back to due to the group's original arrangements and great vocal performances of some of Southern Gospel's best songs. Carry On is another fantastic recording from the trio, and it will more than likely sell very well for the group.
The much anticipated Booth Brothers' new album entitled "Carry On" is finally here! You may purchase it at their online store at http://www.boothbrothers.com . The record possesses all the ingredients you would want and expect from the Booth Brothers - songs of encouragement, hope, and celebration performed in the classic styles and sounds of the group. You may recognize some of these songs. "Over The Moon" is a wonderful tribute by Michael of his Dad's original version recorded in 1967. "Passin' The Faith Along" is a remake of the original version by the Gaither Vocal Band. Ronnie has always been known for his warm, smooth voice and nowhere is that more evident than his version of Duane Allen's classic, "No More". Turn up the volume and sing along with Jim and the boys to the Imperials' classic "I'm Forgiven". Samples of these songs and many more from "Carry On" can be heard by visiting http://www.boothbrothers.com .
