Anthony Burger
exhibits his piano playing skills in fine style on A Tribute To Bill and Gloria Gaither. This project includes 23 tracks that total out to just under 75 minutes of music. That's solid music, too . . . no pauses between the track. The whole CD flows from one arrangement to the next without interruption.

At times, Burger plays in a very simple style that any competant church pianist could manage. At other times, he plays with the fire we've always associated with the Burger name, punctuating passages with sizzling arpeggios. These contrasts in energy and style help maintain the interest level of the listener.

Bill Gaither
is on hand to sing a verse of "Feeling At Home In The Presence Of Jesus." Gloria Gaither offers a narration that leads into "Something About That Name." Burger takes a vocal turn on "The Longer I Serve Him." Reggie Smith is also featured on a vocal solo.

A few tracks were borrowed from the Gaither library. On "He Touched Me," for example, Burger plays the melody over a track originally used by the Gaither Vocal Band on God Is Good. "The King Is Coming" also comes from the GVB vault. Fortunately, Burger has personalized these so they fit seamlessly with the newly recorded material.A Tribute To Bill And Gloria Gaither is an excellent recording.

If you like piano with lush orchestrations for a backdrop, you'll want to add this CD to your collection.

Elaine Harcourt's avatar What a beautiful well done project this is! I love it all. SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL has a special place in my heart & is done as only Anthony can do a song. This selection of song & their order is outstanding & of course, Anthony's touch on each of these classics is superb! A wonderful tribute to two outstanding songwriters by an equally outstanding pianist/arranger! What a combination!

God is good all the time & all the time God is good.

I have seen on another site that Gloria Gaither has died. Is this true and if so when.

    Thank you,

This is Anthony Burger at his very best. "Gentle Shepherd" feels like you could almost touch God. After a stressful day I find so much peace listening to this project. If you enjoy Anthony, you must have this one.
