The Freemans Reach #1 on GospelMusicTimes.com Top 40 Fan Chart

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Popular Southern Gospel artist The Freemans have earned their latest #1 song – this time as voted on by the fans.

The group’s current single – “Three Rugged Crosses” – is resting at the #1 spot on the GospelMusicTimes.com Top 40 Chart this week. The GospelMusicTimes.com Top 40 Fan Chart is the Southern Gospel industry’s only chart that is based solely on the votes of the fans.

Chris Freeman of The Freemans said, “This song has been a huge part of our ministry over the last year and a half. The fans have really taken to this song. We are so excited that they thought enough of it to take to #1 on this Fan Chart. Thank you so much.”

In addition, “Three Rugged Crosses” is currently sitting at #2 on the SoGospelNews.com Top 40 Weekly Chart – the industry’s leading weekly chart based on radio airplay.

“Three Rugged Crosses” was written by Rick and Marty Funderburk and is found on their latest album – Eyes On the Prize. That album has spawned off the record-breaking #1 hit “He Chose Me” as well as the hit single “Cast In the Sea” and ministry driven “I Need a Drink.”

This holiday season, The Freemans will tour in support of their brand new Christmas recording – Christmas Memories.

The Freemans are currently preparing to record their follow-up to Eyes On the Prize. The album is slated to release in 2009.

The newly designed Freemans website is now up and running. Check out more information on the group’s current website at http://www.the-freemans.com. You can also visit the group’s MySpace at http://www.myspace.com/thefreemans07.
